Bunny and Carrot Writing Game
« on: June 19, 2018, 01:59:44 pm »
I made a bunny and carrot version of the writing telepathy game posted by gj148 here: (
http://www.waygook.org/index.php?topic=113593.msg759026#msg759026 ).  Students choose a carrot, write down the corresponding word or sentence, and then a bunny comes and eats 3 out of 4 carrots.  If the student's carrot isn't eaten, they get 1 point.

Well done! It's simple but gets the job done! I'm going to try it out with my grade 3's!

Update: I played it for a lot of my different classes and the kids went CRAZY for it. I make all my kids say the jaws theme when the rabbit is coming for the last carrot and they SWEAT because they're so nervous. Thanks so much for making this as it will be used a lot!

Hey you're more than welcome! Thanks for the update.  And not gonna lie, the jaws thing inspired me to make this version:

So taking gj148's advice about the shark game, I used this as a 4-corners style speaking game.  Instead of writing a  something corresponding to a carrot, students went to a corresponding corner of the classroom and spoke a sentence. Each student gets a paper strip of ten carrots.  If the bunny ate the carrot they chose, the student would fold or tear off one carrot from these paper strips I made. (I used the same carrot from the worksheet annataleen made.). After ten rounds, the students with the most remaining carrots left over are the winners.  It's a little different twist on the usual 4-corners style games.
