Glad to see you got it settled roxy. It'd be nice if it were simpler that this.  I dont know how mods are standing by this kind of behaviour. Kyndo? Antaleen?  Anything to add about scamming these people for months on end?

wouldnt you think that they would have a more direct way to communicate with the site owner about these kinds of issues.  And why would you want to moderate a site that is knowingly scamming people.  Honestly, i dont understand why anything is even moderated in the first place...

It is frustrating not being able to kick things up to sysadmin.
And while there are less posters these days, back when I was made a mod, there were a lot of people around, and there was a fair bit of bullying etc that needed modding.
And while I agree that clearly Roxy's situation was handled very poorly, I can't think of any other examples of deliberate scamming (aside from, obviously, the surprise paywall. That was pretty sketchy.)

haha  the paywall and theft of teachers materials to sell was a pretty big one, yeah. I guess I don't understand moderating in general.  Whats the issue if people are getting bullied?  the forums are separate from the teachers resources anyway.  These recruiters could use a little bullying, doncha think? But alas, commenting on their posts is instantly moderated.

I don't think that *some* moderation of the discussion threads is totally out of line.
If one can't share opinions on a teaching forum without getting blasted, then where?
That said, if everybody took the time to read the room a bit before commenting then things might be a bit more copacetic...

yes.  that is also a good thing in my opinion

Good idea I heard for AI.  Make a plugin that automatically reads through TOS and finds red flags.  Would have to be constantly updated. 

It might be good to simply have something to help translate English TOS into English, Korean TOS to Korean, etc. 

There goes my (completely unpaid) job security!

if you go into your activity on Paypal and then sort it to find automatic payments from the last year, click on the araslan one and manage or something like that you can click cancel next to the active status and a message box appears (I had to scroll down a bit for it) then click ok and done and it takes it to the inactive list and that should take care of the problem

paypal doesn't work particularly well in everyone's home country which is the main issue for a lot of people

please let us know how long and if this plea is successful. and what kind of refund you get for the fraudulent charges . Kyndo has stated that others problems were resolved.

it's long been a theory of mine that this website intentionally is stealing from people with their subscription trap model.

I'm not certain how often the sysadmin actually checks his messages here.

i'd imagine the fastest response could be found by posting a negative review of markkrajar's sub-human recruiting services in the jobs forum. since thats the only post that seems to be paying the site owner and thus the only one he cares about.

this site is a scam. the sites owner is a criminal.
