Or immigrants who will live 8 in a house .
Your simplifying .
Their skill set is being tractable and willing  to work longer for less pay and at live at a lower standard than the average worker .
Itís funny how you kind hearted liberals extend your kindheartedness to illegal immigrants and more understandably immigrants, but are full of hatred and venom for your fellow Americans.
Were talking about businesses and people who have worked their entire lives , you donít need to write them off as unskilled and worthless.  I know youíd grant more respect a Pygmy,í wow they are so intelligent how do they do it . Ď

And if they want to sell a house for a price another is willing to pay, that's their right, too. Smart, ambitious people from around the globe are flocking to San Francisco. I'm not going to complain about them making San Francisco / California / America / the world a better place.

I guess stashing what you pilfered in China in California houses isnít very objectionable. But letís distinguish between clever and crafty and good.
Itís a huge pyramid scheme.  It just drives up prices everywhere.   Banks should have failed after the last crisis.
Oh and 1.6 million dollar average housing in San Francisco is not evidence that California is good.  Your talking about a dot on the map.   I think San Francisco could use some federal government projects .  Weíll get those nice m 13 gang members some new homes and liberals will have some new friends

Are you guys aware California has been running a surplus for several years? Information about it 'failing' is outdated.

Quote
Next fiscal yearís surplus grows to $9 billion from $6 billion
Quote
California Governor Jerry Brown is proposing boosting the rainy-day fund to its maximum of 10 percent of tax revenue, which would be $13.8 billion. The fund holds $9.4 billion this year.

just because this year they have a budget surplus doesn't mean much.  Balanced budgets are nice and rare for progressives,  but that 6 billion comes at the expense of the highest gas prices, one if not the highest tax rates , and at the expense of MIllIONS of middle class residents leaving to safer more affordable states.

That 6 billion could be consumed easily by fixing terrible roads and infrastructure , old airports, and Water irrigation projects to prevent the next drought etc..
But they're already doing all of that and have a surplus to boot.

As for millions leaving:
Quote
California's population rose to 39.5 million in 2016. The state added more than 300,000 residents last year with the largest increases in big cities, according to a report released Monday by the California Department of Finance.May 1, 2017

When will you learn to deal in facts, jimbo, and not the lies that rush throws out?

Californians fed up with housing costs and taxes are fleeing state in big numbers
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/19/californians-fed-up-with-housing-costs-and-taxes-are-fleeing-state.html
138,000 out of 39.54 MILLION doesn't strike me as the mass exodus you claim.

FACTS, man, FACTS. Don't fall for clickbait.

California is, no doubt, a HCOL state. Retirees will often move to LCOL states. It's only natural, cuz.

I spent a week in Oakland in 1998, two weeks in Alameda in 2001 (including a 4-day trip down to Carmel), three days in San Francisco and a night in Sacramento, and I thought California was a wonderful state.

Yeah, I preferred Hawaii, Alaska and Washington state, but it seemed better than Oregon, Idaho and Montana (not to mention cheapshots I could take at Michigan and upstate New York). Colorado had as many pluses as minuses.

There. As a nonAmerican I pretty much said all I can in terms of my preferences (oh, I went to North Dakota when I was living in Winnipeg, but Fargo was an Academy award film back then and I was a bit star struck at the sights (Val Kilmer was in that FBI thriller filmed there as well... can't recall, two decades ago, had a Canadian native First nations actor well known in it).

800,000 people are about to flee New York and California because of taxes, say economists

The state lost 3.5 million people to other states from 2010 to 2015

That's probably some kind of disengenuous stat-mining, because the simple fact of the matter is that California's population grew by about 2 million people during that time period.

Perhaps it's
2,800,000 - 800,000 = 2,000,000

As long as that number stays positive, that jurisdiction is probably doing well.

Thatís pretty much established fact
It doesnít mean that more people didnít come   , but 3.5 million left.

In a slightly larger time period 6 million left and 5 million came so thereís a net loss here of 1 million.

And red suddenly becomes a shade purpler.  Those are probably the only Manhattanites who actually voted for Trump.

These population losses are low in historical terms.

And:

Although California has had net out-migration among most demographic groups, it has gained among those with higher incomes ($110,000 per year or more) and higher levels of education (graduate degrees).

It seems California may be getting the better of the exchange.

Itís funny how democrats associate higher income with good or better as you say.   But then again you did revel in the death of a republican.
Also the doesnít include a million immigrants let in to the us each year many of whom go to California.
