China says 'it is only polite to reciprocate' to US tariffs - https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/03/china-says-it-is-only-polite-to-reciprocate-to-us-tariffs.htmlHa ha. Good luck China. You're slapping tarriffs on pork, soybeans, etc. You don't produce enough food to feed your billion people. Also Chinese people don't trust the food production in China. So you just screwed yourself with that boneheaded move. It hurts you more than America. Ha ha.
Bret Davis voted for Donald Trump in 2016, as did many of his fellow farmers in central Ohio. But as a brewing Chinese trade war begins to threaten U.S. exports, Davis fears his fifth-generation farm will suffer. The farm, where Davis and his stepson grow 1,300 acres of soybeans, corn and wheat for Ritz crackers, may not withstand the long-term drop in crop prices a trade war could bring, Davis said. And although he supports President Trump's goal of making foreign trade more “balanced,” he's increasingly concerned that Trump's methods could harm the rural Americans who helped put him in office..........

President Donald Trump’s aides are looking at ways to use the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC), a division of USDA created in 1933, to offer a financial backstop for farmers. Another option is “Section 32” funds. The possible aid would be a way to protect farmers if China and/or other countries officially implement tariffs on U.S. agricultural products.CCC can borrow up to $30 billion from the Treasury Department and extend that money to farm groups. If U.S. farmers see orders from China plummet because both countries create new layers of tariffs on imports, the White House previously said it wants to set up an assistance program for the U.S. ag sector, including the livestock industry, row crop producers and fruits and vegetable farmers impacted.
