I'm planning on doing a music-themed camp this summer, and wanted to teach the students some songs. It's fine if they've heard the song (I don't expect many students will have heard the song AND learned all the words, but if they have, they probably like it enough to hear it again).

Any recommendations for simple-ish songs Korean students are interested in? My students would be 1-3rd grade female middle school students.

Just asked my middle-school girls! Answers were "Rewrite The Stars", Sia and Adele.

My students can't seem to get over Shape of You by Ed Sheeran

Especially the version sung by J Flo.  (Is that her name?  The Korean singer?)  I also use to play the Trump sings Shape of You and the bing bing bing video.  Middle school anyways as an opening.  In elementary, no way.  A lot of teachers flip a brick due to wanting every spare minute to be learning without even a moment of fun for the kids.

I also used the "Tasty" you tube videos as an opening in my middle school classes to get the kids talking and tell me what they would like to make as free talking before starting the class.  Can't do it in elementary though.  Teachers here control things a lot.

Other random funny videos for a minute that you can find as a middle or high school ice breaker works.  Just don't do it for very long.

Even though it is old, my students still really love Lemon Tree by Fool's Garden. I would like to do Shape of You by Ed Sheeran but I teach elementary so not sure if it is 'appropriate' enough for that young of kids.

This isn't a song, but it's the most requested video by all of my 3rd~6th graders.

It definitely wakes them up in the morning. :)

I have a group of girls that are big into Bruno Mars.  They're always asking me to play "Marry you," of all things.

Wow. Her cover of 'Havana' is really good. But her cover of 'Delicate' is offensively bad. Nice voice, though.

The middle schoolers love her.  Grade 6 elementary could be shown too depending on how controlling your coteacher is.    I just posted some songs with hanguel I discovered by accident this morning but couldn't find this topic when I needed it.

Here.  But check before.  I try to keep any sexual lyrics out of the class.  Parents and teachers would prob complain big time.  http://www.waygook.org/index.php?topic=112943.msg750441;topicseen#new
