In this video, I share my blasian mixed race experience on being a half-korean and half-black man. I share a brief story of how my parents became an international couple, my struggles with identity growing up, and talk about things I hear all the time about my ethnicity.

If you're mixed race, then I'd love to hear your experience. Comment below!

I love being mixed race with Korean & Black and I'm extremely proud of my cultural heritage. I'm also thankful that my parents went against the cultural norms of their time, followed their hearts, and became an example to international couples everywhere! Enjoy :)

I think OP tried to embed the video in his post. Not working on my browser, though.

Yes, actually the image is clickable (I should have specified). But if for some reason it doesn't work, theman3285 posted the correct link. Thanks!

How is your Korean? Do you speak Korean with an American accent?

As you mentioned in your video, you do really look Filipino, so I think your first encounters with Koreans will be similar to Filipinos in Korea unless your Korean is flawless. You'll also have some Filipinos look at you seeking confirmation that you're one of them the same way you'll find yourself looking at westerners seeking confirmation that they are American. This comment may not make sense to you right now, but it will a few months after you arrive.

I hope you enjoy your time in Korea and find what you are looking for here.

My Korean probably sound somewhat native at times but also I also have a bit of an accent too. I live in Koreatown here in NJ so I知 used to explaining to Koreans that I知 half-Korean, so I have accepted that this will be my fate to explain this every time!

And yes, it does make sense what you said. I値l be prepared to explain to Koreans and Filipinos alike that I知 not Filipino :) And thank you for the well wishes. I知 looking forward to a good experience in Korea!

Are you downloading and then uploading it again? Or are you sharing the link?

If it's the latter, why even ask?
