WHy are you going for low paid ESL jobs in China when you are a qualified Canadian school teacher? You will only get 15000 RMB and maybe no accommodation or a silly 2000 RMB allowance and you will have to fork out for 2 deposits on an apartment.

I just got offered a job at an intl school and it is 25000 RMB AFTER tax plus a free apartment. I would stay in Canada until next year and apply for intl schools which pay the above salary I just quoted.

I finally ditched the contract in China, and next month I will relocate up to Northern Ontario for my new job. I have to be there for August 28th.

As for salary, I know how much it will be, definitely more than what I would have made in China teaching EFL at a public school. My cost of rent will definitely be cheap for a 2-beadroom house being in a rural area north of Toronto. In fact the QECO in Ontario placed me at A3 for my salary.

As much as I would have loved to go to China to teach, I would be better off staying in Canada. Yes, I have to deal with the hostile winter conditions but it will be nice for me to be in my own country. But guess what? This job is a contract job so if I get the chance to stay at the same school board I will take it.

I have been to China before but only in one small part of China. But you know, just because I will be a teacher in Canada it does not mean I won't get a chance to travel. So yes I will travel around the world again and I will if I have the time get a chance to see China once again.

Look. Just do whatever you want.

if you want to teach in China, then teach in China!!

Trust me life is too short to cave in to what other people think you should be doing all the time.
Catch my drift?
