You give students the attached worksheet.

You show them video to the scene "You Jump, I Jump" which can be found here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asnH_8oR-us (4:13)

Pretty simple. They watch the scene, fill in the blanks and missing words. They should know most of the vocabulary.

After you talk about the Titanic a little (if you want) then you play the Mario Quiz game. Some of it is related to the listening exercise and "you jump, I jump" scene, other questions are just general knowledge about the ship and story.

It's topical, interesting and not particularly difficult. Hopefully it should go quite well. Would be good for an afterschool class or whatever.

Enjoy.

Feel free to add your ideas.

This sounds interesting. I was thinking I might do a Titanic lesson with my students next week. Is the file you're unable to attach a wordfill worksheet for the video, or is it something else?

Sorry, yes it was a wordfill worksheet with a Mario game reviewing the worksheet and Titanic general knowledge.

I'm doing a titanic lesson today too. Didn't even know it was the 100th anniversary. I'm going to have the class choose whom they would save and what they would do. It is a "Would you rather X or Y" lesson. Might try to incorporate this lesson in on Friday with the same clip.

Good job on the game. On slide 18 it says the ship sank on April 16th. It was actually April 15.
