It seems that every F visa allows you the freedom to work without a sponsor, so which of these visas would you say is the best?

Like, why would someone with an F4 visa choose to get an F5? Or someone with an F6 try to get an F5?

They can vote in local elections. I think they might also have the visa indefinitely, ie. no renewing.

Yeah f5 no renewal and your spouse doesn't own your visa.

Yeah f5 no renewal and your spouse doesn't own your visa.

The benefits seem kinda minor then tbh

Yeah you'll only save money after 5 years or so, compared to f6 and renewing every year.

What about an F2, F4 and F6? Between these three, which one is the better one?

F6 doesn't have to renew every year now. I only had a 1 year renewal when we first returned to Korea. They have been giving me a 3 year renewal for years now.

Yeah, F6 is now 3 years. They said it was to protect foreigners in case of divorce. A lot of cases where spouses divorced or threatened divorce, and the people tied to the visa were having a lot of trouble to stay within the country. On the radio again...

Well that is good news, I suppose. Still glad I switched to f5 though.

I don't know the specifics and unfortunately the website is a bit outdated.

But you may find some answers here: https://www.visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10101
