Z visa paperwork

Hello people,
I accepted a job in Zhuhai starting in September. My school sent me a list of all the documents which they need for my Z visa.

I am not sure about the health certificate and notarized documents. Has anyone applied for a Z visa from Seoul recently who can point me in the right direction, please?

For the health certificate my school says:
Copy of your Health Certificate and any accompanying dependants’ Health Certificates above 18years old -a simple standard letter to certify that you are healthy and fit for work can be obtained from any hospital, clinic or family doctor. It is a compulsory document for your entry visa application.
Has anyone recently had a medical for China? I understand that the medical examination had recently changed and it looks like I only need a basic health certificate/ letter, as I will have a full medical check once I arrive in China. Can I go to any hospital, or only one approved by the Chinese embassy?

For the notarized documents it says:
notarized document from China Embassy or host country notary organs.
Do I need to get my degrees/ CRC/ teaching credentials translated into Chinese first, and then notarized? Or notarized first and then translated, or not translated at all?
Could this be done at my (South African) embassy in Seoul (host country notary organs)?

I've tried calling the Chinese embassy and the visa center here without success.

Hey there, Im kinda recently in the same boat but I currently live in China.

Im transferring to work from Hangzhou to Zhuhai at UIC.

Running into some issues as well because of the new visa policies here such as Diploma authentication which can only be done at a Chinese embassy or consulate or a special service center in the mainland. Although I was able to get it done but I had to fly down to Guangzhou to do it.

Next was getting my transcripts authenticated (by the way, they need all the original copies) which I had mailed from the States with my dipolma. Again, that has to be done a chinese embassy/consulate or a special service center.

****word to the wise**** since all this policy change stuff is brand new and since all provinces arent obligated to do it yet, A lot of them dont have the means to accommodate for authentication.  As i mentioned i live in Hangzhou and they arent up to speed about all this documentation verification BS, so if you ask a person who works with visa stuff where to go for this...you'll be greeted with an IDK most likely.

You also need to get you medical check authenticated in some cases. the medical can be done at foreigner specific travel centers that literally just specialize in these kinds of health checks.

the problem im running into now is that they want a recent criminal background check which needs to be authenticated and the service centers and embassies will only authenicate state or federal certified documents, so u cant get like an online BGC. It has to be straight up legit.

Since im in China and i need to do this before my residency permit expires next month, I have to get a fingerprint card mailed to china, then mail it back to the US office, wait for it to be done, then get someone to take it to the embassy in my state, wait for that to be authenticated, then mail that back over here to China...Shit Blows - I mean technically it could work but nothing ever goes smoothly dealing with Asian Bureaucracy, lol - theres little room to accommodate for time error.



 

The visa office here in Seoul is not helpful at all and can't answer any of my questions and the embassy simply doesn't  answer their phones.

I'm now using a document agent in SA who will get my docs first notarized and then attested at the Chinese embassy in SA.

The school sent me a medical form and we found a hospital which is familiar with the z visa medical. They want x ray, blood works and eye test, which will be about $100.

 You need to go to a hospital that uses Chinese charachters in it's application. You can still enter China with a medical form that has either English or Korean language on it. But you will have to do the full physical again after you arrive. There is one hospital in Seoul that offers the manderin health exam report.

Back in 2013 I did my medical in a small town hospital in Korea. I told them that I needed a letter/form for working in China explaining that I am clear of this, this, and this and that there are no conditions that would stop me completing my duties as a teacher. They knew exactly what to do and the form was on a database they had. However, Chinese policies change regularly and not all at the same time so how one province does something, another will do it differently.

Once I arrived in China and was applying for my FEC/Resident's Permit I had to then go to a hospital that deals specifically with the medical requirements. I think the name in English is 'Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Centre'. For the first time, in 5 years I was issued with a little red book called the Certificate of Health Examination.

Changing jobs in country during the summer was an absolute nightmare and it meant that I basically wasted the whole vacation trying to get it sorted because my current school was working to a timescale and 'policy' that didn't work with my new school based on the changes.

Resurrecting an old thread.

Trying to apply for a Z visa for Anhui. What needs to be on the Korean CBC? What documents need to be translated, notarized or authenticated?

Already did medical on a Chinese form. Mostly looking at info about CBC procedure and degree authentication.

I understand some of this stuff is region specific in China but any help would be appreciated. Doing all of this in Korea and not heading back to passport country.

I thought that the CBC has to be from your home country, even if you've not been home in years. For Brits it is quite easy and my 2nd CBC only took a few days. I've heard that American's have a real problem getting the CBC in time. Other nationalities? I don't know.

This might be incorrect because province by province they're very different and also each year there are changes to the process. When I first moved to China nothing had to be translated. I already had my BA notarized and authenticated from my time in Korea. When I moved to another province, my recruiter had to translate everything including the BA certificate and resume. How? Why? No idea. But luckily, I didn't have to do any of it. I just sent my docs to the recruiter and they dealt with it all.

I was hoping (if I stay in China next year) that my already notarized BA will do for the visa. It probably will do, but many of the schools are requesting for my MA to be notarized too. Hopefully, they can process my visa with just my BA and when I get home in the summer I can do the MA for next time. I don't want to deal with that from here.

 Will they take documents older than 6 months that have been authenticated at the Korean Embassy

I have only heard the '6 months' rule being for Korean schools never heard it being needed in China.

However, there's a reason why most of my sentences in the previous post started with 'I thought', 'I was hoping', 'might' because things do change constantly here.
