when talking about another student's pink eye: "Eye error"

when I started walking to her: "No! Don't talk to me!"

when I was passing out worksheets: "Hurry the **** up!"

I was teaching my 6th graders about currency. In one activity I had them draw anything they wanted to sell as an item for our mock garage sale. 2 students drew Kim Jong-Il with his genitals hanging out, then started waving their drawings in the air shouting, "Kim Jong-Il for 2 cents!!"

I was told one day "Teacher, you are kaka!".

I just laughed it off, knowing he meant it as a compliment (he thinks I resemble the Brazilian midfielder, Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, known as Kaká).

Not really anything my student said... more like what he did.

Last summer when it was really hot and humid (when isn't it), he goes to me... "teacher HOT! take clothes?" (teacher, I'm hot, can i please take me clothes off?" me- "No!"

few minutes later, once i've forgotten the conversation, i'm going around the class checking their work. What do I see???? This kid, took his PANTS OFF! And was sleeping peacefully.

"My finger is sick."

Was she sick? No. Was her finger injured in any noticeable form? No.

I guess I will add mine too!

The topic was about sports and I was asking the kids (elementary age) what their favorite sport was and one kid shouted out "french pecking!!"  I almost died from laughing on the inside when he said it :)  I think he may be on to something with this new "sport" idea!

Girl: Teacha, teacha.. I am so sad.
Me: Oh? Why, what's wrong?
Girl: So sad. So so so sad.

Girl: You know the boy who sits here? (points to seat)

Student: Teacher, how do I join the FBI?
Me: I don't know, I'm Scottish. (Wondering if he'd be listening to my accent and lessons about my home country).
Me: And you are Korean!

A student walks in and says... "REALLY??? Where??"

I thought it was cute...

Me to kid: *feigning surprise* Oh? You've heard of him? I didn't think you would know him. My husband is very shy. Is he famous?
Kid to me: Yes! Very very famous and old! Old! Like Teacher!

Quote from a Teachers Day note for me:

"Thank you for teaching us. You teach us so well and you are so fun. I do wish you will be like that for the whole year."

Sorry, kid.  It's all downhill from here.

kid- Teacher, Where are you from?
me- I'm from America.
kid - America?(surprised look on this angel's face) Teacher, you can't be from America. You're not fat!

Good thing there were only 5 mins left in class because I absolutely lost it. I'm pretty sure I laughed for 10mins straight after that one.
 ;D
If you teach a class that has all special needs kids with only the physical ability to move their hands up and down, then you'll be fired because they all gave you checks instead of circles.

Walking into my last class on Friday, I go into my initial shpeel of "How's it going?" not really expecting much aside from "[I want to] go home/sleep"

Out of nowhere, one of my boys stands up and says, "Teacher!!  You're the most important part of my life".

This made me laugh hysterically because of the ambiguity (Am I THAT awesome or is his life tediously boring?) and the emotional desperation akin to "Teacher!! Help me!!".
You get what you give :)
