Post by: lalateacha on February 21, 2014, 08:34:08 am
Ladies and maybe gentlemen...
Has anyone had ombre highlights done in Korea? Any suggestions where to go get it done?

I did my own via YouTube tutorial. You can go to Atrium and ask for hair bleach.  :afro:

Ombre doesn't seem to be a big thing here, so you're probably better off doing it yourself. You can buy DIY drugstore kits & get someone to ship them to you here.

If you do it, be careful and afterwards deep condition regularly. I had a friend get it done and it fried her hair. She ended up having to cut off 6 inches.

In terms of doing your hair yourself - has anyone actually had much luck buying box dye? Not necessarily for ombre, but in general. Can you even get dye for 'western' hair in Korea? My hair is pretty thin so I think it would fry in response to dye intended for Korean hair.

I order boxed dye from gmarket here: http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=189244953 (http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=189244953)
There's not much variety outside of blacks/browns/reds but it's cheeeeap (~9,000 won after shipping).
