30 years ago the world pledged to stop actively **** up the ozone layer and let it fix itself. And it worked
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/09/ozone-action-worked-environmental-progress

FTFY!

By the way, the ozone layer is still depleting, as Nitrous oxide and CFCs both have a 50-100 year life span in the upper atmosphere. Only in the last 6 or 7 years has that rate of depletion become negligible. It has been estimated that the ozone layer will recover to 1980 levels near the middle of the 21st century.

A random teacher brought me grapes...she apparently likes me because I speak to her in Korean because she can't really do English. I love the practice with someone who doesn't laugh in my face...so it was a lovely exchange.  :-*

School lunch was cheese 동까스, which left a bit to be desired but was still good. Also no afternoon classes (5-1, 5-2) today, because the teachers wanted to give me time to prepare for lesson 8 while they test the kids and review. Unfortunately those are also two of my favorite classes.

I finally got a chance to go to the bank in a non-rushed situation and get my certificate installed on my phone.

I have been without for a few months.

Now I can spend my money even faster!

Great news!

Curious to see how they will do it.

It's easy for a politician to make a long term promise, but it quite another to keep the mandate to see it through.

p.s. I hate teacher classes

Congratulations!

Just curious - you always seem like a pretty competent dude, and I feel like your Korean is probably decent - why couldn't you just do it yourself and transfer your certificate from your computer?

Not judging - genuinely curious!
No offense taken.

I've been riding my bike to school, as the weather has been beautiful.

Today in class:

S: Mr. P, you smell delicious...like curry :)

T: Thanks :-[

I just do it on a work PC.

I also refuse to install any of that trash on my computer at home, but work PCs are already lost causes, so it doesn't really matter.

I'm just remembering that you're not a teacher or something now, though, so that would explain it.

I do have a work PC laptop, but it is locked down so tightly I can't even use a USB thumb drive.

In a similar bout of success, I was finally able to get my online banking on my phone through an app! I never had online banking in Korea, and apparently the name on my ARC didn't match with what SKT entered into their database, so I had to ask my coteacher to help me jump through the proper loops to get it sorted and we did finally. Now I can transfer money and view my balances and charges at any time!!

I'm happy that waygook.org moderator LVL 1 gagevt was able to get mobile banking. Congratulations! Your life just got a lot easier!

It still amazes me how many people don't use mobile banking.

I still go to an ATM to do transfers.  What is the next level beyond "amazed"?

Disappointed?

That deescalated swiftly.

I can use the excuse for extra exercise, so it's hardly an inconvenience.

Yeah I've used it a ton back in my home country, and meant to get it set up much earlier. I think my coteachers and I kept forgetting or were too busy when it was brought up..
