Why is coffee so demonised.

:police: I feel a bit under the weather.............
:-* Oh, okay, that's not good.

10 mins later.  :police: *sips coffee*

:-* You said you were sick?????

 :police: -->  :rolleyes: :huh:

It's coffee, it's warm. It isn't going to do anything to my "recovery."

And even if it did, I need my damn coffee.

On the flipside, I personally feel like coffee is put on a pedestal. Though I also don't think coffee would affect your "recovery"

i recently got a kitten. i love cats!

Name of kitten?

If I ever get one I swear I'm going to name it Grandpa. Even if it's a girl. My family has forbidden it, so now only the lack of a cat will stop me.

EVERY cat is named mittens. :p
(this is a running joke between me and a couple friends) :p

As for another funny story about my cat (I don't have many, sadly). She was a HUGE scaredy cat, to the point she was even scared of birds. She'd only go outside if one of the family was nearby.
My dad, is a huge labourer type. If he isn't at work, he is at home doing things (like cutting wood for the winter and stuff).
My cat loved to go outside while my dad was cutting wood, especially if there were lots of birds, because, my cat would get scared, run near my dad, and the birds would dive bomb my dad while trying to get the cat lol.

Also, coffee is uber magical. It transforms me from a grumpy, angry, lethargic teacher who just wants to be asleep until morning classes are done into a grumpy, angry, hyperactive teacher who just wants to be asleep until morning classes are done.

It can do wonderful things. Case in point:

Gotta love futurama! :P

For realsies though, the taste of coffee (and tea) just makes me real sick, to the point, I'll almost vomit the moment I taste it.
Coffee flavoured chocolates aren't as bad as the drink, but if the taste lingers for too long, it'll make me sick too. :p

Chacun son goût.  :undecided:

My dirty little secret is that I don't really enjoy most beers (there are some that are genuinely good, but they're inevitably super pricey ). Unless it's really hot out, or am in a social setting, I'd rather just drink soda, coffee, moonshine, tea, or whatever.  :-[

You mean "Disenchantment"?

I don't personally like it. The jokes are too forced. There are some good things about it, though, so I'm still going to watch season 2, whenever that comes around.

I just had a bunch of students tell me that the moon landing was fake. They were adamant about it.

Anti-science crap like this makes me die a little inside. Obviously they're getting this from their HR teacher, which means you need to go over there and give him/her/it a good shake (not really).

At the university in my town there are 2 English professors who are flat-Earthers. The crap they post on my FB feed makes my fingers itch, but since it's a small town, and I don't want to be *that guy*, I usually manage to avoid replying. Sometimes their posts get so bad that I have to "pause" them for 30 days or so.  >:(

One of them is also a rabid anti-vaxxer, even rabidder anti-globalist, and a Zionist conspiracy believer to boot.

I read a couple days ago, that some doctors are starting to refuse to see kids that aren't vaccinated, out of safety for the children that are waiting to be vaxxed / aren't yet old enough for the vaccinations.

I just don't get how we got to the point where people decided that we shouldn't listen to science... Why the hell are we regressing?? We're the dominant species because of science, not in spite of it

Sounds more like they're salty than worried about other kids waiting to be seen.

I'm not sure I understand. "Salty" about what?
Insofar as I know, doctors don't really have much at stake with respect to vaccines.
Pharmaceutical companies? Sure.
The CDC? Apparantly so, as they own a few vax patents.
But vaccinations do nothing for your small town clinic doctors... in fact, considering that many people are argue about and try to sue for "giving their children autism" or whatever, I would guess that vax are more of a hassle to them than anything else.

Listen up sheeple. Big pharma gives those small town doctors things like:

Notepads with the companies name on the top
Pens with GlaxoSmithKline on them
Ring binded flip calendars
Year planners

You think this kind of swag comes for free? Wow. You're unbelievable. Those doctors are injecting our children with poison (mercury. look it up) and in return they are receiving a veritable cornucopia of branded stationary.

So yes they are salty. They know the gravy train of free pens is coming to an end and they will fight till the bitter end to see that doesn't happen.
