Zombie Attack
« on: May 28, 2015, 07:47:23 PM »
I have taken a lot of stuff off of this site. It really helps me out when I am in a jam. So I thought I would give back something in return. I call this game Zombie Attack and so far it has worked for any type of conversation. I use it for 3-6 grade and they seem to enjoy it. This one is based off of preposition, but all you have to do is change the dialog to fit your needs.

Have fun.

How do you determine who gets scratched and how doesn't?

You choose a student to be the zombie and then the zombie does the scratching, "killing" the humans.

instructions unclear...
When do students start shaking hands
how many students shake hands
Do two students who have not been infected shake hands? at what point do people move to this so called safe zone?

Does anybody understand how this game works? id really like to use it with my students

My guess would be you secretly choose the zombie. (maybe heads on desks and tap the zombie)

When you begin the game the students all "mingle" and use the dialogue with each other. So everyone is asking someone. They shake hands after completing the dialogue..if they spoke to the zombie they get a scratch and die after a little time. I guess with a huge class you could even pick more than one zombie.

People move to the safe zone if they have shook hands with 5 people and not been scratched. That bit is fairly clearly instructed on the slide.

I have a ppt for this exact game; however, with a different look and explains the game slightly different which may make some understand the game. It really is my go to game as well when I have time to kill, especially since my kids love it. I didn't put it in my PPT but before everyone wakes up I have just the zombies wake up so they can see their partner and avoid accidentally talking to them. I usually change up the number of zombies and required handshakes to win too in order to change it up a bit. Enjoy.
