Someone re-posted my material.
« on: February 05, 2013, 08:06:41 AM »
I did a search for on this site for a topic I made a ppt for before because I wanted to know if anyone else had come up with something. I came across another post but the ppt they uploaded is the exact same one I made, the person just posted it in another section of the forums. Does anyone think this is considered copying?

Post some links!

A lot of times people will download other people's PPTs, change them a bit and repost them. I am an avid supporter of giving credit where credit is due. But I think the assumption on this site is that if you post it, it is fair game for people to use it how they choose.

Here is mine:

Here is the other:

And Jaunter, I know it's okay to modify other ppts and post it on the same thread. I guess I was hoping to find someone else's point of view on how to teach the topic, mostly because I need some ideas how to improve mine.

Normally there is a lot of gray area as people take someone else's ppt, make some changes/additions, and re-upload it.  In this case, the other user uploaded the exact same ppt as aarolye.  No need for 2 threads for the same materials, and no need to take credit away from the original creator.  I removed the 2nd thread.
