Yangju/Pocheon School Budgets for 2011
« on: January 19, 2011, 09:02:40 PM »
I am working in Pocheon and have been paid this month, but another foreign teacher in a local elementary school has not.  She enquired at the GOE and received this response.

Has anyone else been affected by this?

Quote
Hey _____,

There has been some delays in getting the budget for 2011 to schools and temporary money has come in to cover for this month but the allocation is taking some time.

The money should reach to the schools either this week or next, and hopefully you will get your salary then.

If you still have problems next month, do let me know and I will talk to your school.

Warm regards,

_______

Today is Thur, Feb 17, 2011. One hour ago my co-teacher informed me that I would not be paid until tomorrow (Fri.) because the education office hadn't transferred the money yet.  I'll let everyone know if I get paid tomorrow.

Update: I was paid in full after 4 PM on Friday. My girlfriend was paid in full Monday, Feb 21st. So not too bad.

There should be no excuse for ANY employer to pay an employee late. Really sad this happens.
