I watched a cam, just wait for the DVD rips to surface in a couple weeks. Press screener might leak soon too

Yeah I don't know why it's taking forever...Django, Argo and Lincoln all have DVD screeners and The Master has been out longer than them!

just got back from the US.  saw the following while at home:

-gangster squad (ehh, not impressed)
-django (i guess it was worth the $10 movie ticket)
-broken city (ehh, not impressed)
-silver linings playbook (loved it)

since in korea i've downloaded:
-frank and the robot (decent)
-zero dark thirty (pretty good)
-flight (decent denzel movie)

all in all, my fav so far has been: 1. silver linings playbook 2. django (the dentist character pushed this up, awesome performance) 3. flight/zerodarkthirty 4. frank and the robot.

i'm watching life of pi tonight.

Where did you get the cam version? I can only find an Italian subbed cam version.

Django is a bit overhyped for me. I guess I"m not a fan of Western type of films that much but I do agree the acting is top notch. For me, also, the first half of the movie drags a bit but the second half has some good tension.

I loved Silver Linings Playbook. The screener is out, or you can wait two more weeks until the distributer times it for Valentine's Day in Korea.

Recently watched Beasts of the Southern Wild.  It may not be everyones cup of tea but I really enjoyed it.  Very emotional and full of heart.  Plus, the lead actress (six years old and never acted before) is absolutely awesome.

Also recently watched Moonrise Kingdom.  A quirky Wes Anderson film about two teens who run away together.  Really well done, loved every minute.  Plus, awesome cast.

I saw A Good Day to Die Hard tonight. Pretty sweet that Korea gets it sooner than most other parts of the rest of the world HOWEVER I suspect it's a cut version of the film cuz it really seems tame for an R rated film. I know the MPAA lowered the bar on R rated films, but this is ridiculous. It also conflicts with reports of other people, who mentioned more violence and swearing.

Overall, it's literally an action packed film with barely any breathing room but it feels too short and kinda ends fast. Bad guy isn't terribely interesting but I did like the usage of more practical effects and less CGI. Or if some scene were CGI, then they were hard to notice.

ALSO some of the movie is in Russian, and they only have Korean subtitles for those parts. So unless you know Russian or can read Korean, then you'll be lost on the plot a bit.

The Mummy.

I remember when I came out I was pretty young (like...9?  :P) and really hated any movie with scary scenes in it. My dad tried to get me to watch it, but chose to call me down during the scene in which the Arab (? maybe) man has the bugs crawling under his skin...I was scarred for life and didn't watch it the whole way through till I was 17 or so. Then, I became addicted and watched it so many times in a row that I memorized it. I can still recite almost the entire movie. Whatevs.

Yesterday, I watched Piranha 3DD and Battleship. I deserve a medal or something.

I'm a fan of dumb movies. Unfortunately these both crossed the line into inane.

3DD - as you can imagine - is full of boobs and gore, and little else. No tension, lame jokes and just about zero plot. Somewhat self-aware at times, but takes itself too seriously most of the time. Hasselhoff is the only redeeming factor, and they wasted him with badly written dialog.

Battleship is all "RAH RAH MURKA WOO" as America once again defeats a highly advanced alien species because despite having overwhelming technological superiority, and being able to cross light years and all that, bright lights hurt their eyes. *sigh* I'm serious, it's that freaking dumb.

I've downloaded most of the Best Picture nominated films and will be watching them throughout deskwarming, with the exception of Zero Dark Thirty.
