Where to throw out broken furniture pieces?
« on: September 20, 2011, 02:27:38 PM »
I just moved to Busan, and am wondering if anyone knows where I can throw away a broken chair.  I know I have to pay extra to dispose of it, but Iím not sure where.  I live in Haeundae-gu.  Plus now I have to replace the chair, so any suggestions to where I can buy a cheap one.  Thanks.

Just throw it on the ground.

I threw out a couch and a mattress and just put it next to the mountain of garbage that always seemed to be outside my apartment. Then one day it was gone.

I agree, if you look around people are always throwing their stuff out into the ground.  Most of the time people will come by within 24hours and take what you have put out to recycle it or use it themselves.  Win win situation, you get rid of your rubbish and make someone else happy.^^

Ok..thanks for this advice.  But I think I would rather take care of it legally.  I'm even willing to pay some money to dispose of it correctly.  Has anyone tired doing this?

We've had to replace a chair and a sofa.  Go to you neighborhood office  to pay the fee (ours was 6,000 won for both) put the sticker they will give you on the furniture and put the furniture next to the garbage.  Easy peasy

Since when is it illegal to throw away an old chair in the street in Korea?
It's the norm for Koreans to leave hard rubbish on the street, as I've seen couches, fridges, old tv's, you name it.

Just leave it on the street at night next to a pile of rubbish and come morning
it will be gone... arjuma's bread and butter.
