A licensed UK primary school teacher starts on 23,000 a year, which is 1,585 quid a month after tax. = 2248639.50 won. 2.2 mil plus 400,000 housing allowance would work out more than that after tax. With a lot less paperwork and hassle.

But you are asking someone to give up all the comforts of home, and fly halfway around the world, enter a new culture, know nobody, and have to learn the language if they want a chance to survive.

A UK teacher will get 12 weeks of holiday as part of the deal, a pension plan that allows early retirement, and a choice of unions to back them up should trouble arise.  What is more, there will be pay rises based on time spent, and a promotion track to become a head or deputy head, which will pay in excess of 50k (pounds) a year on average, if you reverse a failing school, that figure can go up to 100k a year (in exceptional cases with bonuses and rewards).  So, why would a person who could progress at home move away to stagnate at 2.2m, and if they are lucky a rise to 2.5m in 5 years?

Fair points, though a licensed teacher might want to do it just for a couple of years for the experience.

Yeah, or  you can take a job for " experience " and still get paid fairly. That is also an option.
