Do I Keep Original Medical Check for Renewal?
« on: November 30, 2018, 08:44:01 AM »
Hello all, quick question vis a vis renewing:

My co-teacher wants to take the original sealed medical check document I received and send it to SMOE with my police back ground check. I thought I needed that sealed document to take to immigration for renewing my ARC? Should I get her a photocopy of the original from the hospital? I can't photocopy this one since it's sealed inside the letter...

Thanks in advance!

Hello Tdap,

A medical check isn't required for renewing the ARC with immigration so it'll be fine to just send the sealed copy to SMOE.

Ah, I think I was confused because the medical check is printed on a sheet that states E-2 Visa on the top, so I thought I needed to bring it when I renewed the E-2 Visa. I guess it just goes to SMOE? Thanks for the info!

Yeah it just gets sent to SMOE and you're right, it must remain sealed.

The required documents for the E2 visa renewal are: application form (no picture required), passport, ARC, contract x 2 (one original and one photocopy), proof of address, fee (60,000 I think) and your school's business registration certificate.

Plus any other random documents they arbitrarily decide to "require" on that day, including but not limited to: class schedule  (stamped), pay stub, income tax print-out thing (honestly not even sure what they were asking for with this, my cot ended up handling it), photocopy of accommodation lease contract, confirmation letter of accommodation lease contract.

Nice one, glad you got it sorted!

Yeah it looks like I forgot some things for the visa renewal as elsbethm mentioned above.  Let's worry about it when the time comes next year  ;D
