What foods are you addicted to?
« on: July 12, 2018, 05:38:45 PM »
Apparently I'm addicted to dried persimmons. I buy them whenever I see them and if I don't have them I crave them.
They have several health benefits so its probably not a bad thing.

I was addicted to nachos (aka Korean doritos) for a few months but had s to stop when I noticed they were giving me a pot belly.

Then there was the chocolate addiction. I had to stop that because it was not good for my teeth.

Likewise my coke addiction lasted about 6 months.

Korea seems to lend itself to phases of addiction.

I was forced to quit my peanut butter addiction here because it's too expensive.

I actually could not stop eating it, it would be a binge until I felt sick. If it was in the house, I would not stop thinking about it. An actual addiction/trigger food that I quit eating.

....Until it was on sale today. I bought a jar ;o;

I assume you mean cola, and not cocaine.

I guess North America calls it cola.

Rest of the world = coke

I'm originally from the UK, and it still sounded funny.

No, I’m from America, and we definitely call cocaine coke, too.

Addictive stuff! ho boy

But I’m with you on the dried persimmons.

And peanut butter is a daily staple for me. I pay for it with sexual favors if I have to. But really, I have it under control. It’s more of a social thing than anything else.

You should visit the US sometime. Not as bad as the news makes it out to be.
Ko fills half his luggage with instant noodles for his international business travels, a lesson he learned after assuming on his first trip that three packages would suffice for six days. “Man, was I wrong. Since then, I always make sure I pack enough.”

I find it hard to live without my PB&J  I can't stop buying Peanut Butter. Other than that, those 초코칩 cookies are pretty hard to put down for me. Might actually help kick my Oreo addiction

I'm also addicted to peanut butter. What's the PB meta here? I usually go to the NoBrand store for it, but I'm not sure if that's the most value way to acquire PB. Thoughts? Links? Thanks.

Costco is our supplier, although Mrs. Went cold turkey a few months ago, so it's not in the house anymore.

For me... Dumplings; preferably Chinese style.

Cheese and banana bread (the latter courtesy of the bakery right near my work - I was surprised to find something that wasn't completely dry and tasteless!)

What people call carbonated drinks in the States is a regional thing and varies from area to area. Variations include but aren't limited to: soda, coke, cola, pop, fountain drink, and soft drink.

In my part of Texas, most people call it soda, but you'll hear "coke" a lot, too.

My dad was from a northern part of the States and liked to call it "pop".

@ topic: When I first got here, I was addicted to white mochas, especially the ones from Cafe Bene. Stopped because I was drinking them almost daily and that's not good for you, lol.

Home baked Chips/fries, with peri-peri sauce
Marmite
Avocado
...Whey protein

Cheese would probably top the list, but for obvious reasons I've had to give it up while in Korea.

Most Korean soups, except anything w seaweed.  Every weekend, I have a bowl of 뼈해장국 and usually 부대찌개 the other day.

Lately, I've taken to buying those prepared pouches (like bibigo) of 육개장 to eat at home.  I eat it with a peanut butter sandwich.  It's almost exactly like vegetable soup day when I was in elementary school.

Since a lot of my food/drink is bought on the go, it's usually cheap crap- the Jalapeno string cheese from the CU. Those black and white cookies at the CU. The grain latte at Ediya. Watermelon Mix-Berry at Juicy. 콩국수 and 낸면 because it's summer time.
