Attached is a History of Magic crossword puzzle. Had a power point that went over these terms earlier. Also attached is a list words/definitions for a Harry Potter Bingo game.

Posted earlier was a make-your-own centaur worksheet someone else made. Students must create their own creature. In my class I had students put any 2 animals together (they would draw them) then had to list its strengths and weaknesses. Would randomly choose 2 students to "battle" each other and they would just describe their creatures to the class. The class then voted who they thought would win in a fight. House points were awarded to the winners! Worked reeeeeeeeeally well! Beforehand showed a couple youtube videos of creatures fighting each other and asked who they thought would win. Used with middle school boys.

(dog attack shark)

(king kong vs. t-rex)

Here are some additional worksheets for anyone who would like to use them for a Harry Potter camp theme. I did this theme for a week winter camp with Middle School kids and it went great. They had 4 classes a day so we got a lot done.  In the last class, we had a quidditch hunt.

Add'l Harry Potter worksheets.  Also, I can't take the credit, someone else came up with these worksheets, I just can't remember where I got them from.

Here is a Spell Book I made in order to teach idioms, such as 'Stick together', 'Two heads are better than one' etc... I taught them one a day and on the last day of camp we had a scavenger hunt where they need to perform certain "spells" throughout the hunt. I also used this in a quick draw game. Two students stood in the front with their backs to each other. I said a "spell" and the first student to perform the correct action won.

This thread is amazing! well done to all involved! I have a couple of questions...in some of the intro ppts the one slide says create a house banner and choose an english name and make name badge. Is the english name and name badge for individual students or names for the different houses as opposed to gryffindor, slytherin etc? and second question also about the intro slide, is the shopping in diagon alley...just wanted to know some of your ideas for this,do you have a little shop and give each house/group some fake money and they buy certain materials to make wands, cauldrons and house banners?

Thanks once again for the awesome ideas!!

I decided to play a Harry Potter themed "Mafia" game, so I made a Powerpoint detailing every step. For those that don't know the game, Mafia is a card game where you receive one poker card at random and depending on the card you are either (in this version) an evil wizard, Harry Potter, Hermione, or an innocent Muggle. The evil wizards try to secretly kill everyone and everyone else tries to figure out who the evil wizards are.
My kids absolutely LOVE Mafia but the first time I tried to explain it without a Powerpoint, they were completely lost. This is very easy to understand, step by step, and with lots of pictures!

I made the lesson harder for Grade 5. You can find the worksheets in the lesson plan.

I had a box at each location (gym, library, canteen). In the box were the clues, differently labeled for each team. Once they came back with one clue and left it on the table I gave them another. This takes a lot to organize and be warned some of my lessons doing this, students did steal and hide other teams clues!

I also had to make this class harder for my 5th grade hence the different material.

Sorry it's a little late but hopefully this camp can be useful to someone, I've put the whole thing into a zip file which includes lesson plans, presentations, worksheets, fonts, and EVERYTHING else you need for a camp aimed at the first two grades of middle school. This camp was based on the one at the start of this thread along with various other material we made ourselves and found.

The materials have been tried and tested twice by me and my missus and I've included a readme file with our thoughts on what worked well and what didn't etc.

Oh the zip also includes Korean subs for the deathly hallows if anyone is looking for them.

Hope someone finds this useful, please post any comments or questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH for this compressed file!! What a lifesaver. I am planning to do the Harry Potter theme for my August 2011 camp and was trying frantically to put all the scattered info/worksheets/ppts together and then I found this zip file!! God bless you!! Love it!!

Totally stole a lot of stuff on here and I forget from who (lots from the AWESOME Harry Potter camp).

Thought I'd post my stuff in case someone has a similar lesson.
