I love this! is there any way that you could send it to my email cos I can't seem to find the right click to add sound to the slides. I think I should be able to have it in its entirety: andy0017@gmail.com

Whack the Mole PPT Game Template
« Reply #21 on: November 16, 2010, 09:20:53 AM »
This is a fun PPT game template that can be edited to fit your needs.
Fill in with your 21 questions. Kids love the sounds and animations of this game.
Based on the popular Whack-a-mole game.

Directions:
Before the game:
Fill in your 21 questions

During the game:
Click on a mole mound If the students get the answer correct, click the green check.
Then, click on the green check on the "right answer" slide to see the fun animation and sound.
If the students get the answer wrong, click on the red X. Then, click on the red x on the "wrong answer" slide to see the fun animation and sound.

Watch out for the hammer bonuses and mole traps!

Made for my elementary classes in ESL classes in Korea.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire PPT GAME
« Reply #22 on: November 16, 2010, 09:35:30 AM »
There are already templates out there but I wanted to give it a shot. This is a striped down version where the students work their way up to the 100000 question. Use it in different ways, get creative.

Might have to find the sounds and re-link them, PPT doesn't embed longer sound links.

my version of power point says that I have to convert the files to .wav before I can use them, but no worries. As for adding the sounds you have to follow these steps:
1) Click on animations tab (4th from the left)
2) Click on custom animations (on the upper left side next to the preview icon. It will have a small icon that has a little blue arrow, a speaker, and a tiny clock.
3) This will bring up the custom animations sidebar. Right click the bottom animation for the points. It will say something with "oval callout"
4) This will bring up a divided menu and click "effect options" This will be located under the blue line below the option with the clock.
5) This will bring up a new box. The bottom half deals with sounds. Click the first option and scroll to the bottom. There you will see the option to add other sounds.

Again, you must convert the files to .wav before adding them.

Here is a template for a Thanksgiving-themed game.  It's a quickie for the end of class - there's 14 questions and two "Big Brother" slides.  Just plug in your own questions and answers.

Click on the number to take you to the question page.  After click-through, the font color will change to that of the background color.

Click on the turkey in the bottom right to return to the question menu page.

Point values:

Leaves - 5, 10 or 15 points
Turkey - 20 points
Pie - Get 5 points from another team
Big Brother - Give 10 points to another team

As always, improvements and re-uploads are always welcome.

Annoying Orange Bomb Game - IMPROVED VERSION
« Reply #27 on: November 25, 2010, 10:12:13 PM »
This is an improved version of the annoying orange template I uploaded previously. Sorry there were some mistakes in the other one, but this one should work well now. I fixed the animations, improved the sound quality and increased it to twenty questions.

This game is based on the youtube comedy series "Annoying Orange." Students compete in teams, gaining, losing and stealing points.

I've cleaned up the PPT a little.  The sound files are now embedded, but they are only snippets.

Please tell me if I've got anything wrong, I don't know K-POP very well.

Also, great PPT once again sally.

Here is a slightly cleaned up version of the game so it's nice and easy to fill in.

The simpson font should be embedded.  Please tell me if it hasn't worked.

Christmas Game

Hi all. I posted this in the mega template pack, but it was suggested to give it its own thread since the other is quite lengthy. Again, thanks to the original maker, I only made it into a template so it's easier to modify!

Spider-man adventure game.
« Reply #32 on: December 10, 2010, 11:36:46 AM »
Hello all here is a game I have been working on for a week or so. Hope you like it. It is similar to the Mario Adventure game but with spider-man. If you start the game on slide one it should progress automatically through a story line until you get to the quesion page.
There are two rounds, containing 35 questions. Most of the cool search and follow me sections are in the first round because we rarely play more than that in my school. The final battle should play automatically all the way after the hyperlink is clicked.
Please let me know if you have any issues. It is a large file, and i built it on PPT 2007 so I am sorry but some folks may have issues running it if they have an older system.

Please check the hyperlinks, and watch the whole thing before using and let me know if there are any issues.

'Simpsons' Jeopardy Template
« Reply #33 on: December 21, 2010, 02:37:00 PM »
A super-simple Simpsons Jeopardy template.

PPT has five categories, points ranging from 100 to 500 in each category.

Point amounts are text links; they will fade to the background color after clicking but leave a slight black outline.  You can get rid of this if you want by just un-stronging the text.

On the answer slide, click once for the answer, once to see how many points the question was worth.  Click the Simpsons' home to go back to the main board.

Changes and re-uploads are always encouraged! :D

I really enjoyed playing this game with my class. They went nuts for it. A quick warning. I did this with high school students, so if you want to just change the pictures for Middle school, because some of the pictures are a little gross, but that's what my kids like.

How it worked: I first did the lesson of "survival tools". It's not difficult and actually a little boring (maybe you guys can make it more exciting some how), after that we started the Zombie adventure game. I divided the class into two groups (only had 8 students, so make groups of 4-6 I think). They have 1 minute to choose an answer. If they choose the right answer, they get 10 points. If they choose the wrong one -5points.

Enjoy guys. and please comment. Did this work for you? Would you change any thing? What would you do different? ;D

Bomb game template (low - high) (variation)
« Reply #37 on: February 17, 2011, 10:49:29 AM »
Please find attached a template with possibility of 27 questions of your choosing: round 1 and round 2.

It is a questions and answers template, with a space for you to put a picture in the middle.

When the student has the correct answer, click anywhere on the page and either points, or a bonus round will come up.

Bonus round is either a choice of 4 prizes OR a 50/50 bonus round.

Be sure to click on the WHITE NUMBERS on the bonus rounds to reveal the prizes.

The home icon in the bottom right will always bring you back to the home page.

There is also the option for a "celebration page" for the winning team. You could upload photos of the kids if you use this for a camp (I did, and they all hid their faces when they appeared on the screen).

Let me know if you need any help. Looks complicated, but just try playing it and you'll see how easy it is (though boring without any questions!)

PPT Games
« Reply #38 on: February 23, 2011, 02:47:04 PM »
Hi, here are some games I made during winter vacation. (Had far too much time on my hands).

KPop Bomb Game:

Need to still add a few more songs but don't know when I'll get round to this so I'm just uploading what I have. Game is your typical bomb game. Will need to add questions to slides before animations [I've not always specified 'question' 'answer' but you should be able to figure out where to put questions in spite of this] (I hope).

Help:

Inspired by 1st person shooters. Click on bad guy to cue question. Irrespective of right or wrong answer bad guy will fall. But if ss get wrong, click on one of the health bars to deplete it. [Pirates of East Sea game credit. I took the Bam txt from there]. Once health is gone, click 'health' to cue game over screen. If successfully kill all bad guys, click to advance to the next level.

Cluedo:

Iíll upload my notes when making this to help you understand the bigger picture. Not sure how this game will be received but I went with it anyway. Basically, thereís a crime and students must work to solve it. The main bomb screen grid allows you to examine the crime scene, interview suspects etc. Piece together the evidence and when you feel there has been a sufficient investigation click to advance to the screen where ss can say who they think it is. Click on suspects here. Then advance to the next screen. [Credit took the buzzer from another ppt presentation on here and treasure chests from Pirates of the East Sea.]

Get Dressed:

Self explanatory this one. Expeliarmus means if 1 team has a wand, then the other team can use expeliarmus and expel it. Click on wand to make it disappear and text box reappear. Donít click rapidly else computer seems to get confused.

Lucky Pot:

This game I saw on here a while back. Not my concept, all I did was make a cleaned up powerpoint version of it. Additionally a lot of material was taken from the pirates templates posted on here. Basically find chest get points, donít find chest, points continue to accrue. E.g 5 points if find treasure. Team 1 does not so find. Next team 5 points is now 10, donít find, 10 is now 15 pts. Team C finds = receive 15 points. Pot back to 5 points and so on and so on.

Mario Game Counter/Template
« Reply #39 on: February 24, 2011, 08:23:15 PM »
I'm so happy to finally contribute to this site. You guys are awesome and amazing and have given me so many great ideas. I'm happy to give back.

I made a Mario game on powerpoint with six characters and instructions on the first slide. Sound effects are included!  (spent hours on this thing) You can play this game with any lesson however way you want (rock, paper, scissors/answer questions/do the correct action/etc.) for your kids to be able to advance through the map.

Is there a way to copy this post in every unit? I'm going to post it in the first unit of each grade and the index for people, but I was wondering if there was an easy way to post it for every unit.

Game instructions:
Slide 3 - Click on the characters to have them move around the map. They will move to each castle (1-6) and then advance to Bowserís cave in the middle to kick his rump and save Peach.
Slide 4 Ė Click the winning character to grant them a 1up.

Enjoy!!!
