It seems to me that both sides are doing more than their fair share of denial.

The dems biggest problem was Hillary and they still refuse to recognize it.

Special Report: As the U.S. government doles out tens of millions of dollars to “combat Russian propaganda,” one result is a slew of new “studies” by “scholars” and “researchers” auditioning for the loot, reports Robert Parry.

By Robert Parry

The “Field of Dreams” slogan for America’s NGOs should be: “If you pay for it, we will come.” And right now, tens of millions of dollars are flowing to non-governmental organizations if they will buttress the thesis of Russian “meddling” in the U.S. democratic process no matter how sloppy the “research” or how absurd the “findings.”

And, if you think the pillars of the U.S. mainstream media – The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN and others – will apply some quality controls, you haven’t been paying attention for the past year or so. The MSM is just as unethical as the NGOs are.

So, we are now in a phase of Russia-gate in which NGO “scholars” produce deeply biased reports and their nonsense is treated as front-page news and items for serious discussion across the MSM.

Two months after signing it, President Donald Trump has not begun enforcing a law imposing new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea, Senators John McCain and Ben Cardin said in a letter seen by Reuters on Friday.

Also, with just two days to go, his administration has not provided information related to Russia's defense and intelligence sectors required under the measure by Sunday, they said.
Why's trumped up so soft on Russia? Follow the money/hacks.

TOTAL SPENT ON TV ADS:
CLINTON: $253 million
TRUMP: $93 million

TOTAL HELP FROM RUSSIANS:...

There you go again: egging on conflict between nuclear powers.

In case you hadn't noticed, the threat of nuclear incineration hangs over the world.

There can't be much more irresponsible than fomenting conflict between superpowers. Yet this is precisely what the MSM and Washingtons elites are doing to keep their annual defense budget coming.

At this rate, americans may not wake up one morning. Do you really want to die for transgender bathrooms?

Yes, blame the Catalonia result on Russia. You do realize this thing has been building since before Putin was born, right? It's been an issue since Franco died. It was a big issue when Obama was president before everyone started up with this Russia crap. People are just using Russia as an excuse whenever something doesn't go their way as a scapegoat for their own faults. Did Russia make Rajoy go in with his cops and start beating everyone left and right? Is Gerard Pique and millions of other Catalans under Russian influence? Get real.

At some point you're going to have to realize that you can't blame Russia for everyone and everything. It makes as much sense as blaming Sharia Law or some Jewish conspiracy. It just shuts down all critical thought.

I heard Russia was responsible for converting John Proctor and Giles Corey to witchcraft.

Russia is interfering in western democracies to de-stablize them. In catalonia, they were supporting the secessionists who had promised to recognize russia'a annexation of Crimea and remove sanctions as well as help with dealing with the russians who had fled to Barcelona.

Wake up and smell the vodka.

At least one outside researcher has said that the influence of Russian disinformation on Facebook is much greater than the company has so far acknowledged and encompasses paid ads as well as posts published on Facebook pages controlled by Russian agents. The posts were shared hundreds of millions of times, said Jonathan Albright, research director of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University.

On Monday he said the revelations about Google suggest the Russian online influence campaign likely used many of the American technology industry’s most prominent online platforms and services.

“It’s a system,” Albright said. “It’s not necessarily magic. It’s social media marketing at an expert level… This is very well executed.”

Oxford University researchers, meanwhile, reported Monday that Twitter and Facebook accounts linked to Russians targeted online content at U.S. military veterans and active-duty personnel, mixing disinformation alongside other content already being read and shared widely among these communities.

I don't think the Trumpsters have realized yet that Russia is quite close to China, Iran, and North Korea.

Anyway Putin only got Trump elected so he can destroy NATO. Say goodbye to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and a few others. All because a few thousand people in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania wanted to feel better about being white.

Please don't tell me you're one of those people that think Donald Trump won "cuz white supremacy"? Reading too much Buzzfeed isn't good for anyone.

I would also like to see how Russia orchestrated Trump's win.
Research shows that trump voters were swayed by fear of changes to "traditional American culture," i.e., white culture.

As for the russkis, hacking state polling systems and disseminating fake news while meeting with trump operatives, ain't enough for you to realize they meddled in the election? What do you need--a signed, notarized confession from putin?

It's foolish to think it had that significant of an effect. Just because it was spread around the world doesn't mean everyone followed it.

Unless $100,000 of Russian facebook ads are somehow magically more potent than $100 million of Clinton campaign ads.

Please tell me this magical formula of hypnosis and mind-trickery that allowed those Russian ads to be so much more effective.

If this were true, then Russia should be dominating every consumer market because of their magical advertising skills. They aren't.

I heard the Russians applied thermite paint to the World Trade Center. They also faked the moon landing.

The fact that you even think Catalonians were influenced by Russia shows what a dupe you are. The Catalan push began long before Donald Trump and Russian news propaganda was ever a thing. Only idiots who have fallen for this Russian crap like the suckers that they are believe that Russian propaganda had anything to do with Catalonia. Stop living in the stupid American political bubble where everything is related to the reasons that Clinton failed to beat Trump.

Russia tries to influence them, sure. So do we. And I guarantee our efforts are far more effective and relevant (although even the effectiveness of our efforts is debatable).

What is happening across Europe isn't because of RUSSIA!!!! It's because of the 2008 financial crisis and the uneven benefits of free trade and mass immigration, which can benefit some people/professions/regions and devastate others. Russia didn't cause Spain's debt problems. Russia isn't responsible for Catalan/Basque/Galician/Scottish identity and differing politics.

Was Russia behind the SNP and David Cameron agreeing on a referendum on Scottish independence?

Not a monopoly, but they're the worst offender.

Russia has the most Olympic medals stripped for doping violations – four times the number of the second country. From 2011 to 2015, more than a thousand Russian competitors in various sports, including summer, winter, and Paralympic sports, benefited from a cover-up.

According to the director of the country’s antidoping laboratory at the time, Grigory Rodchenkov, dozens of Russian athletes at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, including at least 15 medal winners, were part of a state-run doping program, meticulously planned for years to ensure dominance at the Games.

"Worst offender" here is like comparing Mao to Stalin or saying one baseball team is worse than any other at stealing signs.

BALCO. MLB. NFL. Cycling. China.

There's plenty you can condemn Russia for, but suggesting that because of their doping that they hack other stuff just doesn't work.

I saw it and thought, "wait really.. I gotta see this.."

Clicked. Saw 15 pages..  <- should really be an emote. I think everyone knows the face. And the "notsure" face for that matter. Not like the current "undecided" one but the suspicious one with the shifty eyes.

Undecided if I should change it to a more relevant, non-misleading title. Probably should, but what? This thread has gotten a bit ridiculous anyways. Perhaps it will allow the thread to die off peacefully.
