Make sure they know ahead of time that you'll have no way home. Otherwise you might find that they never thought about your situation and you are stuck.

I pointed it out. I'm waiting to see who will be my ride. Hopefully no one will feel like taking me home, and I'll have a good excuse to not tag along. (No one I work with lives where I do, so it's kind of out of the way for everyone, I think.)

shiiiiiit just opened one of my drawers on my desk to find an incredibly old and moldy loaf of bread in a plastic bag that I forgot about. I wanted to peace out of here as quickly as I could, but now I have to stay ten minutes late so that I can dispose of my nasty piece of bread and no one sees my shame.  :lipsrsealed:

Of course, this disaster of a day would not be complete without a very explicit porno popup coming up on my computer while some students are standing behind me. They're two of my best and assured me they didn't see it as I hurriedly told them to look away, but I'm horrified and I still don't know where it even came from since basically the only website I go on here is waygook.

Seriously.  Sometimes when i get to work my computer won't turn on because one of the power strips is turned off for some reason or one of the cords is unplugged.  Today my computer started up but my monitor wouldn't turn on.  I checked all the cords which were all fine, though I burned myself on the electric kettle in the process.  So I had to tell my ct and she suggested I pull out the computer tower and unplug and replug everything back in.  We both tried and the keyboard plug would absolutely not go back in.  So she gets some other office lady involved who puts my keyboard in the recycle bin and gives me a brand new one.  I'm pretty sure mine was fine but okay... Then she dicked around some more and got the monitor working.  It's just annoying to come in and not have my computer turn on immediately.  I don't know why they have to mess with all the cords around my desk.  What if I would've come in early to work on stuff as I frequently do?

My wife (used to) do this with the power chord for my TV and Xbox combo. It's to save power. I understand your frustration.

Wtf.  My electric bill at home is either 0 or 2,000 won per month.  Now that I'm running the AC all day it's about 6,000 per month.  How on earth are they saving anything?

It's the daisy-chaining that really drives me crazy. I don't understand why they don't install more outlets in their buildings to prevent the need, especially since it's such a fire hazard to daisy-chain and can/will eventually burn out electronics.

This goes triple for buildings that're going to be used for administrative/office purposes -- you know they're going to have computers, printers, copiers, etc... so why do you only install, like, three outlets?

You know that commercial back in the states were squirrels were wreaking havoc on people's gardens and they were running their hands over their faces and leaving all of those streaks? That's me. Simultaneously, Stitch getting aggravated and pulling at his eyelids. Also me.

So we have a camp. No problem. I got to do what I wanted during my last camp, which was perfect. It was my first camp, so I was a little shaky, but now I know what the **** to do and I'm so ready. Of course I got a new coteacher. I love her, she's super easy to get along with, I'm super easy to get along with, no problems.

But then she tells me she said the education officer said to read them books. I was like oh, okay, sure, I guess I can read a book or two-

No. She clarified. Every day of my summer camp, for one period, we will read a book and do a workbook. At that point I just did a. . . WHAT in my head because who the **** actually wants to learn during a camp? It's more about fun and games with a side dish of some english. So I was incorporating that into my lessons. I mean, I still teach the kids some English. But it's summer. They don't want to sit and do more regular lessons.

So she had this book from the education officer that was filled with books ranging from grade 1 - 6. She picked some to fit my themes, and that works, but I haven't read most of the books so I can't really go about making any decent lesson plans for them. But it's no problem, she said, the book had the worksheets and games so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

My camps are like so: 1 week, Mon - Friday. 3 class periods, each 40 minutes long. So totally doable. Except they like me to do themed "days" as opposed to like, a themed week. So there's a lot more work and prep time involved. So here I am, busily adapting my plans to what she wanted.

All of my other friends were equally baffled, asking why my coteacher was starting to meddle in with my camp plans. I just shrugged and said whatever. We'll do it.

BUT THEN.

FIRST AND SECOND GRADE SIGNED UP.

**** ME.

I don't get different grades. I get them all together. All in one class. The material I have is graded for 3-6 grade. 1-2 grade can barely rub together three english words. So here I am headdesking, going oh my ****** god this is going to be awful.

Apparently my coteacher tried to tell the parents that the 1-2nd grade wouldn't get much out of it, but the parents were like lulz whatever and signed up anyway.

The kicker is she said she doesn't know how long they'll STAY every day. So they could only be there one or two periods.

And now I have to help her make the workbooks, and we're back to splitting the class up by grade level and teaching them at the same time. This is just. . . ugh.

I'm still pretty salty about it because if she hadn't wanted to read a book to them every day, for one period, this would not be an issue. And she spent the entire camp budget buying books for the students. Books mind you, they will only use/read once and then totally ignore. I'm just like. . . this is either going to require an ungodly amount of stress, blood, sweat, and some crying to pull this off, or it's going to crash and burn spectacularly.

It's before 10 and I've only had 1 cup of coffee. Proper English programming doesn't begin until at least 11.

My CT is sitting next to me chewing and slurping ice cubes. I keep putting my ear buds in, and turning on music full ball. EVERY time I manage to get the them in, she taps me to ask me something then proceeds to chew and slurp as I answer her.

I don't know if this is just really annoying and would irritate anybody or if I have just reached the point of no return with this woman, and soon her breathing will annoy me.

I aim to please.  Thank you, too, for your contribution.

Besides, there's nothing like injecting a little humour into a thread that is generally baseless whining.

I have 12 days of camp - 4 hours each day.  48 hours of camp.  Is this even normal?
