At my school I've walked into the bathroom with a woman talking a shit with the door open in the men's bathroom. It was one of the kid's parents. I was in shock for about 3 month.

Yonks ago I was 'dropping the kids off at the pool' at one of my middle schools in the countryside.  The only western style toilet had one of those flexible style doors that didn't really lock.  But if it was shut, you knew someone was in there.  Halfway through my poocumber, the door was flung open by the special education teacher who thought I was one of her students.  She couldn't look at me for weeks after.

Which brings me onto why when I fly back to Europe, older Korean women never lock the door to the toilet on the plane.  I open the door, only to see a crouching Korean woman, shout and then close the door again.  One of my co-teachers reckoned they liked it, that's why they do it.

I have two free periods off and then one more class today. I really wish I had that class now and then could just be done and go.

I like how chill Fridays usually are.

Today the windows are open, the sun is shining, birds are tweeting (in a pleasant, non-screechy manner!), there's a distant bumping bass in the background from the old people's festival...

Gonna stay in this weekend to catch up on sleep, housework, and relaxation.
But the weather is sooo goooood. Go out and enjoy it! Or stay in because it's your life, I just wanted to talk about how amazing the weather is.

WHY NOT BOTH!!  ;D

before I started smoking, cigarette smoke gave me really terrible headaches and I couldn't be anywhere near it. (that's actually why I started smoking - I wanted to see if doing it myself would up my tolerance to the smell. it did. lol)

So I can understand if it's someone like that but.... if it's just average oh that's unpleasant, then yeah.

I don't see those threads because I pretty much just stay in the open thread forum haha

Man. There are few things more irritating than the 'Omg someone's smoking and I can smell it!' threads that pop up every week or two here.

I hate the smell of second-hand smoke just as much as anyone else. That doesn't mean that it's literally the end of the world. Like, yeah, it sucks, and that's lame, and nobody likes having unpleasant smells coming into their apartment. But you don't have to go on a novel-sized rant about how awful people are here for smoking, or how this is some lawless country where nobody has any consideration for others, etc.. etc..

And then you get the people who are like, "Smokers are literally second-class humans," and then the people on the polar opposite who are all, "Mate, don't be such a bloody baby, mate."

And suddenly instead of acting like decently socialized humans, everyone is just being a tool.

UGH.

There's some pointless Friday ranting for you.

The bus drivers at the local bus terminal congregate about 2ft away from the 'NO SMOKING 100,000 FINE' signs and puff away. ****** savages.

My mom, a lifelong smoker, had her big tourist photo moment in Korea was when she saw  legions of 회사원s flagrantly smoking below several NO SMOKING banners outside their offices around Gwanghwamun.

Ha yeah this morning I walked by two guys puffing away right in front of an elementary school, almost as if they were trying to be that blatantly close.

The fines for smoking in areas they shouldn't isn't even enforced by the police.  Nowt to do with them.  It is the city halls who are responsible for it.

I found this out last year when I was asked to teach the police in the evenings for a couple of months.  I had loads of curious questions for them which they answered.  They wanted to know about the British police, I said you paid attention to the British police, and you didn't f*ck around.  They were taken aback by that.

I got 2 ear piercings last week and they seem to be healing properly. The lobe one doesn't hurt at all even if I poke at it and the upper ear one only feels slightly tender if I prod at it. Hurrah! Not even any swelling!

Getting ear piercings here are super cheap. Like, suspiciously so. I'm basically just paying for the earring. But the proper tools and disinfectant are used so I'm not complaining, just amazed at the low cost.

I had the upper part of my ear (helix) pierced back in high school. I promptly tore out the ring (got it caught on a tree branch) a few months later while horseback riding . That kinda turned me off of piercings. On myself, at least. I've done a lot of home piercings on other people since then.
Recently I learned that messing up an eyebrow piercing can cause permanent nerve damage that can paralyse the brow... but guess I've been lucky because insofar as I know, they can still do this:

  that would turn me off of piercings as well.

I actually pierced my lobe twice myself back in high school though now I wish I'd had more foresight in terms of placement. Cause while researching I came across some cool ideas but I don't think I have the lobe space anymore to pull it off. (3 small piercings in a triangular placement)

Didn't feel comfortable piercing my helix on my own so I went and got it done. Hoping to get a few more so I can eventually have a lovely assortment of studs the colors of the rainbow in my ear

I had three helix piercings done by a friend in college but they didn't heal for over a year and were painful and constantly had those white blood cell scabs. I eventually took them out.

I also have two outer conch piercings, done by the same friend, which healed fine and haven't even closed up without any jewelry in them for a long time.

I had two eyebrow piercings but they rejected and I have two great scars and an area where my eyebrow hair doesn't grow anymore (no paralyzed nerve though), done by a reputable piercing shop.

I had two lip piercings on my upper lip that healed with a lot of scarring, and when I had to take them out for a professional event they closed up in less of a day, done by the same shop.

And I have two lip piercings on my bottom lip that healed wonderfully and still haven't closed up after almost a year of wearing no jewelry, done by the same shop as my other facial piercings.

It's often a tossup as to whether a piercing will "stick" or not lol.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUDE PIERCINGS ARE WAAAAAY CHEAP HERE! I've gotten six piercings within the past couple of years and they are all healing beautifully. Well, I got one taken out because I wasn't happy with the placement so I'm just waiting for that one to heal fully before I repierce it, but overall, I am a happy happy person.

I also wanted that three lobe in the triangle thing, but my ear lobes are really small.

I find it hard to believe that you're serious as -- narcissist that I am --  for the first two or three years, my Waygook avatar was just my facebook profile.

Which brings me onto why when I fly back to Europe, older Korean women never lock the door to the toilet on the plane.  I open the door, only to see a crouching Korean woman, shout and then close the door again.  One of my co-teachers reckoned they liked it, that's why they do it.

this has happened to me on several occasions too

We fly Asiana and without fail on one of the trips to the bathroom this will happen, and as has been stated, it is always an older Korean woman who doesn't lock the door (they must really be perverted or something).

Why? Why? Why?
