Thesis Survey (NET L1 Usage)
« on: August 16, 2018, 11:06:38 AM »
Greetings waygook.org,

I am currently working on my Master's thesis with the University of Birmingham in the UK. My dissertation is focussed on native English teacher attitudes towards L1 usage, and if applicable, what they use the L1 for in their classes. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, and I'd be very thankful for each and every response.

If you need / want any clarification or have some questions please drop them here or in a PM. Thanks a lot for your time!

(Also apologies if this is in the wrong section, wasn't quite sure where to post it!)

Cheers.

Nicely put together survey and good on you doing the Birmingham course--it's no picnic. I had to drop out and move to the US for an MA instead.
I'm a high school teacher, but probably an outlier as I teach afterschool classes at a FLHS, so my students occasionally speak English better than they do Korean. Still, a little Korean can go a long way to breaking the ice, creating rapport, etc.

Yeah it's been a pretty hefty course, especially to begin with, but I got used to it after a while. And then the dissertation came along ... and yeah, it's always on the back of your mind  but almost done! Thanks for the response :)
