How to Upload/Download Files
« on: September 20, 2006, 09:25:51 AM »
Notice: You MUST be logged-in and have a subscription to download or even see the little paperclip for attachments.  The subscription fee is minimal and helps us keep the site running adequately for everyone.

To Upload files:  Use  "Additional Options" when you reply to a post or create a new topic.  It should appear right above your "Post", "Preview", and "Spell Check" buttons when you're typing something in the forums.

Here is an example of an uploaded file, you should see it at the bottom of my post (normally the big arrow isn't there, it's for demonstration purposes only):

hi, my name is avika.....my school computer is in korean...is it possible to get a software so it can be in english? very difficult to create lesson plans etc no idea what the buttons mean?????

Avika,

I'd recommend you post this in the information technology board, and be as specific as possible (that is, what programs do you want to use, what type of computer do you have, etc.)  I'm not sure how easy, or possible, it is to change the language, or even if you are allowed to do that on the school's computer since it doesn't belong to you, but you can get some tips on using specific programs.

Failing that, try using Open Office: http://www.openoffice.org/
In Korea from 2005 - 2010, not in Korea now.  Please contact an active moderator for quick answers to your questions.

Hi, I'm logged in. My computer doesn't have any problem but I can't find any attached files. There is no buttons to press... A few months ago, it worked. But now it doesn't work. Can you help me?

Yeah it's confusing, I went into the FAQ and can't tell if I simply don't have links for downloading attachments or if it's necessary that I have at least 5 posts. Just poking around trying to find a download link.

I cleaned this section up a little bit.

The small subscription fee isn't to monetize the site.  Although it's understandable that teachers put effort into creating and uploading them to share with others, it also takes a lot of effort and resources to maintain waygook.  You may have noticed upgrades, and those were possible due to the subscription fees.  The fees are minimal, simply because their purpose is for maintenance.

p.s.  More could be done with advertisements, but ultimately we would like to get rid of it altogether.  We are aiming at developing the site further to provide a richer set of features to teachers, including a better user experience.
