As someone who used to do interface design things, I would love to take a copy of neis. Because it's basically exactly how you shouldn't design an interface.

Every one who designed neis is a stupid idiot and shouldn't be allowed around computers. A second year php programmer at uni could do better, and I know many high school students who could probably do better as well.

So today is mmrrrhhhhhhh.

Such a pretty day, a shame it's gotta be wasted in an office where I'm being harassed by a malicious-as-**** fly.

Minor rant, but... today, as I was standing at the front of the class teaching, my CT decided that would be perfect time to stand right in front of me and use an electric pencil sharpener. Because, you know, she couldn't wait a whole 30 seconds until I was finished right? It had to be IMMEDIATELY. It's not like the students even needed a pencil right then and there either. It was pretty loud so I stopped talking while she was doing her thing, HOPING she would realize she's interrupting. But no...she kept on going. :undecided:

I am taking an online university course. It was supposed to cost $280. I check my account and I have $1400 outstanding. I swear, to work at a university you should have at least graduated elementary school.

Yes. NEIS is an utter abomination. Once you put something in the system, you can't edit it! Better hope you ticked every box and added every staff member name that's required, because miss one and you're going to be deleting that entry and putting it all back in from scratch. Then there's the pop-ups, electronic certificates, lists of names you can click on that it's entirely not clear you can click on and more pop-ups. There aren't even clear "OK" and "CANCEL" buttons when you're putting something in! Is it too much to ask for a simple 확인 and 취소 in an intuitive location?

Hey Facebook and Google! I realise I'm in Korea, but all of my accounts are registered in English, you thick dunces. So when I'm using your sites, WHY DO YOU SUDDENLY SHOW EVERYTHING IN KOREAN, A LANGUAGE I BARELY UNDERSTAND?

^Yes. I find it annoying that even though I specifically type "google.com" it automatically switches to "google.co.kr." And then after I search for something (having typed in English), it asks me if I want the search results in English.

This is why I use google.co.uk. I don't get redirected or any of that bullshit.

Ahh, a day in the life for me as well. Sometimes if they are feeling benevolent, they land on the top of my monitor in pairs or threes and just watch me for ten minutes at a time.  I've tried killing them but what's the point when there are no screens on the open windows in the teachers' room.

Add /ncr (no country redirect) to Google.com to not get redirected to the Korean site. I thought everyone in Korea knew this by now?

"Almost Korean hate Japan."

"Almost Koreans love spicy food."

"Almost Korean women just want to be married and don't want a job."

Usually I don't care about people making English mistakes unless I'm in class. The GRAND OPEN signs everywhere don't bother me and as long as I can understand the meaning of something, I am thankful for the shitty English everywhere.

However, this mistake makes me cringe every time I hear it, which is OFTEN. The thing is, I don't even correct them because the sentences they start with "almost" are usually annoying and obnoxious sweeping generalizations that I don't want them to make any grammatical sense. I'm just not sure why it seems like this entire country doesn't know the meaning of "almost" - even the people who otherwise have a firm grasp on the language.

Haha yea this one cuts through me too

The first time I encountered it I thought I'd just not heard the word "all" after "almost".  Nope!

I'm fascinated how certain mistakes permeate through almost Koreans learning English

Good lord...

Most days this kinda stuff is a source of moderate frustration that I'm able to simply brush off. Today for some reason it's driving me absolutely bonkers.

I cannot get over the way students are allowed to behave in the halls between classes. It honestly sounds like Jurassic Park out there right now, the way everyone's screeching and carrying on. There is one girl standing literally outside the door to the English office screaming her friend's name over and over and over and over again... then she just ran off. None of my co-ts even seem to notice! On the best of days, I try to avoid the hallways between classes if I can. I'm liable to either get run down in a stampede, beaned by a soccer ball/flung slipper, or soaked by one of the numerous water fights that seem to break out between almost every period.

I know it's been a good long while since I was a student, but I seriously don't ever recall this kind of behaviour being tolerated in a Canadian school.

Thinking on it now, I suppose this makes a pretty good case for the importance of recess (seriously, why don't these kids get recess??).
