My adorable 5th graders told me today that they like me much better than the last English teacher (who was here for three years). Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  ;D

My coteacher said that one of our 6th graders reminds her of a meerkat.   He totally does have the personality of a feisty little meerkat, and it makes me love him more than I already do.

My kids are canceling classes in order to self-study for midterms next week (high school).  I walked into a class and they were 50/50 on studying vs. having a lesson with me, and then when I said goodbye they all shouted, "Nooooooo!" and, "I love you!"  and, "I will miss you NomadicMadda teacher!!!!!!"

I've been having a shit day, but it made me smile.

My coteacher is bored and was saying how she wants to go home (it has been a pretty boring afternoon) so I joked and said that I promise I won't tell anyone if she leaves early. She says, "I think nobody will ask you." Ha! :P Fair enough. I'm glad I have easygoing coteachers that I can joke around with.

I'm amused at the fact that the majority of the raving/happy shit teachers here post (including myself) are about when classes are cancelled

I just experienced my first "thank you for telling me last minute that classes are cancelled" experience and I got to say, I kind of like it.

Now with two classes canceled I can sit back, watch some travel videos to inspire where I shall take my first vacation.  8)

BOOM!!

....time to figure out something else productive to do.

My school now has green white board markers. This is amazing, omg the things I can do. the possibilities are nearly endless...

My wife is also on vacation. Last night I got to sleep starfished on my own bed for the first time in something like 5 years.... it was truly and utterly amazing. Being single had some perks.

I like simple pleasures.  It is spring.  It is raining.  The air is clear.  I can breath deeply.

You see?  That is what happens.  The extra oxygen makes me light-headed.

Couldn't agree with you more here. Coming from the Pacific Northwest this environment is a complete 180 for me!
