Reporting posts to moderators
« on: September 14, 2010, 08:53:24 am »
Hello,

When reporting a post to moderators, please write a brief reason in the comment box provided, for example: "post #1 has an attachment missing"; "post #3 uses offensive language". Doing so will help us decide what to do with the post.

Thanks,

Do you guys want us to report "+1" posts, or things that are obviously just post count filler?

Why report post count filler? The initial topic for post requirements doesn't specify content requirements for posts.

Yes, "empty posts" used to reach the 5-post minimum are unacceptable and will be deleted.  We've talked about this numerous times on the forum the past two weeks.  Repeat offenders will be given a warning and, if the behavior continues, will be banned.

If you consider this a great resource---as many do---please refrain from cluttering it with empty posts, redundant topics, trolling, and other behavior in direct contradiction to what this site's about.  This is a collection of like-minded teachers (and former teachers) committed to helping each other.  It's not a free-for-all, and it's not an English teacher's right to post here.  Most people have been abiding by the rules, but we've seen plenty of people just here to take from the site without giving back.  We don't allow that, and I think most users would appreciate not having the quality posts buried by filler.

Thanks for your cooperation.
