High School - Being Polite
« on: December 08, 2008, 02:21:41 pm »
Another lesson. Thought I'd upload a few at once.

This one is on being polite. It worked pretty well for me. I was only using this on advanced classes (my co-teachers had taken over my beginner classes for prep work that week), so you might want to scale down the worksheet if you plan to use this with beginner classes or middle school classes.

Happy teaching.

got the idea to do this from another poster but i made my own powerpoint.

in this lesson you teach about differences in politeness in korea and your own country and then the students do skits demonstrating what is polite and impolite.

i used open office to make this document and presentation because i don't have word on my home computer. you can download open office on the internet for free.

Hi everyone,

First post for lesson plans, but I thought its time to give back!

I have a very low level high school, so my lessons have to be quite basic. These can be of course adapted to any level you require...

I was really tired this week, so having all the kids get active during this lesson was a chore. I think many of these lessons in the index you don't need to be super interactive, but this one it is a must. I was trying to be less...there, but my kids would get super bored quickly. If you do this lesson, be sure to be there and be active the whole time.

Thanks so much for posting this.       We just finished mid-terms at my school and I've had a really hard time getting students motivated.    I hope this will help for my next weeks class!

I've been wanted to incorporate some cultural issues into my class, but I'm always nervous about being offensive or off target. Has anyone ever run into those kinds of issues?
