Send us your favorite pictures!
« on: July 05, 2007, 09:03:52 am »
Smee had a great idea about randomly rotating pictures for the website header, and so I changed things up a bit to allow that to happen (more to come with Samuel's ideas).  It would be nice to get submissions of your favorite pictures to use here as part of the header image, and perhaps if they're nice enough, even for use by some people as their desktop wallpaper.

The first submission was from Smee, I'll attach the file from the other thread it was in, and start posting some of my own.  I think the suggestions that were made were for pictures of temples near the water, although anything interesting will do.

Rules (sorry, but we need them):
- Nothing offensively distasteful.
- File dimensions should be fairly big, nothing smaller than 1600 pixels in width:  essentially, the   bigger the better.

Here's the one I put in my earlier post.  It's a pavillion at Dasan Chodang overlooking Gangjin Bay in Gangjin county.

Here are some from me, however they're not all taken in Korea. The last one from the "Sleeping Giant" set is where I took the other scenic pictures, you can see why the place is referred to as "Sleeping Giant."

1) Eh, a passable picture of the tea fields in Boseong.

2) Picture of Dongmun (East Gate), from Namsan Park in Naju city, Jeollanam-do.

And, sadly, all of my pictures from the bamboo forest in Damyang suck.  It was winter and the stalks weren't too green.  Plus, I'm pissed that I don't have full-size pictures from a lot of places in Seoul.  There were some good shots in there.

Oh, and the semitransparent top part of the header looks a little screwy to me on all the pics except "Sleeping Giant."  Looks like the little black dots are interfering with the background and the text.  Not sure if there's anything that can be done.

Here's a picture of a green tea field on Bonghwasan mountain in Suncheon, with Jorye-dong and Suncheon Bay in the background.   It's a nice little mountain; did a write up here.

The first two I took in Seoul at a palace. It was in spring. I really like those pictures.

The last two I took over the weekend during a motorcycle trip. The first is of me in the countryside somewhere, the second is of my bike :)

This came into my mailbox today. An ad that states what it really is, for once.

The BS diet. For real...
