US passport renewal-money order question
« on: December 14, 2011, 09:28:00 PM »
I need to renew my US passport.  My girlfriend picked up the money order.  The US embassy website doesn't say much about the requirements for it, other than what it's called and where to get it.  However, in the instructions of the form for renewal, it reads,

"The full name and date of birth of the applicant must be typed or printed on the front of the check."

Has anyone done this?  There doesn't seem to be any space on the money order to do this (it doesn't have a blank line like a personal check does with "memo").  Can I just write it in the corner?  Or is it not necessary?  I'm asking here because I've had trouble getting in contact with the embassy and I need this ASAP.  They're slow to respond to e-mails and their telephone hours are very limited.  Thanks.
C is for cookie, that's good enough for me.
