You're right, it's quite possibly better in the long run, but not always realistic or even possible. Although she's a purebred, I think even Sophie may have had a traumatizing experience with her previous owners (or at the shelter). This is the concern I have with finding a good owner, I don't want her to somehow fall into bad hands after she's been rescued. I wouldn't even consider giving her away to students (fickle minded oafs in the most part), Koreans I don't personally know, or indecisive/emotionally challenged people in general. Essentially, since I can't bring her with me, I am doing my best with plan B.
At this point, I do have a couple of interested people on the list, but the decision hasn't been made yet.
