Hey,
Suncheon has a bit of a small town kind of feel to it.  There is about 275 000 people here but the foreigner population is small.  So everyone knows everyone.  There are some things to do here but if you find yourself bored with the same old shenanigans you can easily jump a bus to another city on the weekend.
The answer to your question, "What is the night life like?" is dependant on what you are looking for.  There are 2 main foreigner hangouts, Juliana's and Elvis.  Of the two, I prefer Juliana's.    The foreigner community is great in Suncheon.  You can easily meet people at either place.    If you are looking for a dance scene you have 2 options, both of which are mediocre.  However, this is coming from someone who hates dancing, so my opinion  doesn't really count.   There is Castle night club, a Korean dance club, you can find one in every city in Korea just like it.  There is also the Black Club, more of a younger hip hop crowd.  just reopened so it is quiet but should pick up soon.
As for food, not a lot to choose from.  There is an Outback Steak House, Grand Piato (Italian Restaurant), a Vietnamese restaurant and Juliana's also serves food.  There is a pizza hut and McDonald's.  Hope that helps you.  If you have any questions, drop my line at chrisdevison@yahoo.com.  I think that about sums it up.
