Help! Clue game powerpoint template needed
« Reply #2 on: October 10, 2010, 11:26:30 pm »
Hi,

I believe someone had posted the clue game template awhile ago. I remember using it for one of my classes last semester, but unfortunately I didn't save the template. I was searching for the template so that I can modify it for another activity, however I just can't seem to find it. I am quite certain that I had downloaded it from waygook last semester. Does anyone have a copy of the clue game ppt template? It would be great if someone could post it. I remember the template I had downloaded last semester was used as a game for grade 5 and I believe for the lesson "She's Tall" Thank you in advance.

What does a 'clue game' involve?

This has a lot of templates but not one named 'clue game'.

Don't know of a ppt on here, but on Dave's ESL here is an idea for how to play

"A rip off from CLUEDO the game, but nevertheless effective for dealing with INDIRECT QUESTIONS.
You need 18 blank cards onto which you write 6 names, 6 rooms, 6 weapons. Write these names, rooms and weapons on to the white board so everyone can see. Put 3 cards (1 from each category) into an envelope ... there's your murderer, murder weapon and crime scene. Keep the envelope sealed (even you don't need to know) and then deal out the remaining 15 cards anyoldhow.
The teams of 2 or 3 must guess WHO did it, WHERE and WHAT with.
Each team gets to ask 2 questions to each of the other teams, during which everyone else can collect evidence and eliminate potential suspects, weapons etc...
However, there is a catch. You cannot ask a direct question, ie. What cards do you have? Is it Professor Plum? Do you have a knife? This forces students to come up with passive construction "Can it be used for...?" or indirect questions such "Does your character work in a hospital?". "What couldn't you do in this room?"
Each team gets one chance to make an ACCUSATION and can do so at any time; "I suggest it was ... in the ... with the ..." BUT, once they do so they're out, one way or another! After seeing the contents of the envelope they either win the game if correct, or continue to act as witnesses if wrong. There will be many false guesses, as students are itching to accuse, eager for a resolution, desperate to be the super sleuth. They love it. Patrick (Gangneung, Korea)"

Googling revealed this Clue game template file for a jobs unit.  I'm not sure if it would be helpful for your purposes or not:

There's a very simple on in this pack.  Kids can just choose numbers and that'll go to a picture.

Power Point Games

Hi everyone,

I just discovered last week I now actually have access to a teaching room with a computers for some of my lessons, when originally I thought all of my lessons were going to be without computers for resources.

So with that in mind does anyone have any good links to Power Point games and game templates, for example Battleships. I'd love to be able to try some Power Point games out on my classes, but because I haven't used any yet I'm not sure what works well or not....

Thanks everyone!

The sooner you discover these two treasure coves of powerpoint game templates, the better :D. They are the best collections on Waygook:

Lucky Wheel Game Template
« Reply #11 on: April 01, 2011, 01:36:38 pm »
Hi Everyone!

Does anyone have a template for the "Lucky Wheel Game"  I used it two weeks ago in class and the kids just loved it so I would like to make a new version for another class but something has happened to the template I used before and the hyperlinks for Round 2 have broken.  If anyone has a template I could use that would be great!

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the link to all of he game templates, I really appreciate it!
Does anyone actually have a lucky wheel game made that I would just be able to change question/answers and pictures for my lesson?
I'm not sure how to build a game from scratch using the basic template.  I'm not great with PPT!

Here's one posted by MissB at the top of the page: http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,1154.msg41324.html#msg41324

I don't know how that will help you more than the blank template. The blank template is most likely to not have broken hyperlinks. You would change the questions and answers in the template the same way as you would for the already filled- in game.

I think the issue is the template doesn't have any area for questions, it is structured more as a rewards only template, rather than a review template.

A very large bomb game template?
« Reply #18 on: May 02, 2011, 09:25:10 am »
I need a bomb game template that's much larger than the one I'm currently using. It's about 25-28 questions, but I'd like to try something with many more -- maybe about 50-plus.

Does such a template exist?

Thanks!

Are you looking for one where you can put the question inside of the file?  I have a more basic one that has many many different boxes to choose from, but this one isnt the kind you can put the question inside of it.  I want to say there is a jeparody one with 30 questions on the Rufus super pack under multi-level - Lesson Plans
