How to say break time in Korean?
« on: August 12, 2010, 09:31:44 am »
Sorry if this is already on the board somewhere - Ive searched but can't see it!

Does anyone know how to say "break time" in Korean? We don't have the usual interval bell at my school during summer camp and I'm ending up with a few low level students not really understanding when they can relax. As most kids sit round the class during intervals anyway I don't always twig these poor kids are still working!

Thanks

Kirsty

I had the same problem. I actually changed it to "free time" and they understood. Maybe it might work out for you too.

Sheeneh shigan...
Excuse the phonetic spelling.

if you can read Korean, it's 쉬는 시간.
Phonetically it would be Shwee-nun shi-gahn.

Then you could follow it up with how long.
5 minutes - 오분 (oh-boon)
10 minutes - 십분(ship-boon)
etc. just say the number and 'boon' after it for minutes

Hope this helps :D
