Hello,
I'm posting to ask if there is someone---or a couple people---who would like to volunteer a little time to serve as moderator here. There are only a few of us and the work can pile up quickly. I've been able to spend increasingly less time here, and I know the others would appreciate a little help, too.
Ideally the moderator will be someone with some experience on the board, and someone who plans to stay teaching in Korea at least through the next year.
For the most part, serving as moderator takes up a few minutes a week. Your main responsibilities include answering user questions, keeping posts in the proper forums, merging redundant threads, and keeping an eye out for the odd bit of spam. With the big increase of traffic, we also want to work on making indexes and master lists for lessons, and finding other ways to keep the site organized and make it easy for people to find what they're looking for.
There are times when you may want, or need, to put in a couple hours at a stretch. Recent examples include importing lessons from the now-defunct EPIK forum, creating indexes for the elementary school lessons, and breaking up the JLP Resource Book into separate lessons.
If anyone is interested, please reply here. The administrator will check in later to give users the board permissions they need to help behind the scenes.
Thanks.
