Help - Elementary School Lessons this afternoon!
« on: September 09, 2011, 01:17:28 pm »
Hi,

I have to cover some Elementary school lessons this afternoon! I normally teach MS...

I want to download some generic fun lessons for intermediate level elementary students. I've already checked the sticky index, but was wondering if any Elementary school teachers could recommend their favourite lesson plans? It's daunting to search through the lessson/book index with such short time!!

Any recommendations greatly appriciated!

Thanks,

Dave

My emergency lesson:

Start with a song: www.dreamenglish.com

Choose an easy vocab based topic.
eg weather, feelings, activities (ie: Let's), family etc
Present with PPt or flashcards
Each student has a set of small flash cards
Listen and Show: call out the TL. Ss find card and show it to you.
Then using one set of f/cards, ss play in pairs the Slap game: Teacher calls out word/phrase- ss race to slap corresponding f/card
Then Flyswat checking game: Put larger f/cards on board. 2 ss have flyswat each. Backs to the board. Teacher calls out TL. Ss race to swat the corresponding f/card.
Then Flashcard Forceback game:  Push desks and chairs to side and put several f/cards in a horseshoe shape on floor.  2 teams. One at each end of the shoe. On Go! 1 member from each team works their way round flashcards saying the TL on each card until they meet their opponent somewhere on the shoe. Rock Paper Scissors. Winner continues. Loser goes to back of their line and new opponent starts...
1 point for getting to the opposition's end...
Or, find a bomb game with TL... ;)
