Problem posting with attachment
« on: March 12, 2010, 02:11:29 pm »
Hi, I can post as witnessed by this one.

But if I add an attachment, it will not go through and will just time out.   I was able to make posts with attachments on this computer in the past but starting this month it won't work.

Any ideas?

Have you experienced this problem on more than one computer?

What is the file extension of the attachment?

Can you send the attachment to yourself via email?

same here - I tried to attach something yesterday but it kept timing out for some reason...

I can't remember whether it was a ppt or odp file.

Ditto.
Trying to attach 3 files (2 .ppt files & 1 .doc) and it's timing out.

I've contacted WebAdmin and let him know about the problem.

As a temporary workaround, you could use a file sharing site such as http://drop.io/ to upload your file(s) then post a link to the upload.

I just tried to attached the PPT i want to post to a personal email and it wouldn't attached in the email because it is over 10 mb.  So maybe that is the issue? (although this wasn't a problem last semester)

Testing with file size of 30MB

... Removed the attachment as it was something useless, but it is in working order now.

File size limit on the new server was limited to 8M, and I changed that.

Script on this site will allow a maximum size of 100MB attachments, and your entire post cannot exceed 100MB.  I think that's fair.  :)
