This jeopardy has a number of questions from another one I found on here a while back but I changed over half to make it a bit harder for my high school kids. It made me a little sad to have to argue with one of my classes that Canada's capital is, in fact, Ottawa mind you...

These questions would be way too difficult for my high school students!

A tip: if you have no time or don't want to mess with a ppt, you can just draw the grid on a build and print off all the questions and answers for yourself, pull it out school

i'm at an academic high school and they seemed to have no problems. there was maybe one question each class that no one would get. even in that case the biggest hurdle tended to be they'd know the answer, but not in english. (i'd give a hint for the earth rotation on its axis question though, i would do a gesture for the rotating and use a pen to show what i meant by axis.)

Um, a classic shortfall of quiz games is when the answers--or questions as the case may be--are factually incorrect. Australia is not a continent.

haha this is true. Trust me that wasn't the only mistake! Questions were my own and gleaned from everywhere but this one was my fault. The wording for the question is a bit dicey but it got the answer I was looking for when I threw it in to replace one that was stumping the kids. I was just looking for the answer "Australia" because a lot of them know the country. A shortcoming of using Wikipedia I guess, since depending on which entry you look at, they will list australia as a continent instead of saying Oceania or Australasia. I had a tae kwan do question that was a walking controversy no matter where I got the official order of belt colours from that had to go too. This is why they aren't lining up to give me Trebeck's job I guess!

I've checked the powerpoint; there are no links to porn sites. Correlation does not imply causation.

Not originally mine. I don't think this jeopardy has the best questions, so I changed a few and made some better. It's OK I guess.

I've always found jeopardy to be the best game, as long as the class isn't bigger than about 26.

post-exam jeopardy, which includes a count-down bar that sends them crazy.

you might want to change some of the questions. a couple are class-specific.

Here's a game I cobbled together for my first and second year high school students. The template I started with wasn't formatted to distinguish questions that have already been read from those that are yet to be picked, so I just check them off on the board (a glass "smart board") as I go along.

Feel free to modify this as you see fit. And if by some miracle any of your students have heard of Woodstock or know who Stephen Harper is, let me know.

i made "who is Canada's prime minister?" a thousand point jeopardy question one day when we played jeopardy. sadly ol' stevie hapless hasn't made it this far across the pond.

does anyone know how to make the numbers change colour after you've read the question. i tried to figure it out last night on my home computer and am all the more lost trying on the Korean powerpoint I have at school. Cheers

Just to let you know I had two girls in Grade 2 who knew Stephen Harper (or Steven Hyper - as they called him). I was shocked! I gave the rest of the class his initials to try and help them. I got Super Hero and Saint Hwang but only the one Stephen Harper so far.

Ever figure out how to format Jeopardy Power Points so that the fonts change colour after they've been read?

I'm in my last days as a HS ESL teacher and I have so many lesson plans and have just come across waygook and will slowly post some of my lessons

This game was for my 1st grade HS girls. The Daily Doubles were a great hit. Just keep track of the points on the white board as you go.

1ST: I handed out the Jeopardy picture sheets and gave them a chance to do research on the internet to search for what the pictures may be (in Western terminology) for the first 20-25 minutes of class.
2ND: Collect the sheets and then play the game for the remaining half hour or so.

Please feel free to tweak the lesson as you see fit.
