Yo!
« on: April 04, 2017, 12:21:45 AM »
Hi all!

My name is Luke, I am from South Africa and I'll be teaching English in Seoul! I'm also a qualified teacher so if anyone wants to bounce some ideas off me (and vice versa) for lessons I'll be keen to help. I look forward to discussing ideas with you (but most likely just going to steal all the ones that you have already shared) and to perhaps even meeting some of you in SK!

Teaching and travelling, we're the lucky ones.

Hi Luke and welcome!

You'll find a treasure trove of materials here.  Sometimes you have to do some digging to get at the real gems but it's worth it.

Hope you enjoy your time in Korea.

Welcome Luke! I hope you enjoy your stay in Korea, for however long it may be. Most people here are quite helpful and kind, but beware the trolls! "Open discussion" is where it tends to get crazy, enter at your own risk. Hope to see you lending your advice as a certified teacher. We can learn something new every day!

Hey there Luke!
I'm glad for you.
Are you going to teach Intermediate or Advanced Level students in SK? :)

Okay, first thing, can I not send individual replies??

- Shanicem: We've met?? when and where?

- mrc45: hahahaha that clip made my day, I actually watched Rocky the other day, so maybe I'm going through a Rocky stage in my greetings lol

- VXRider: I'm working at a hagwon, so it'll be intermediate, although after this contract is finished I would like to teach high school students, if you have any advise on what process I should be undertaking in order to make that happen, that would be great :)

- gagevt: Thanks for the heads up, I might pop my head into one of those and see if I can add some of my madness to it as well

- hangyul: hahaha I suppose that was a bit of a give away, I also need to stop saying 'ya' so much so my Korean students don't to english institutions and sound like some super-hybrid South 'Krafrican'???

-chelinostatrabajando: Thank you so much! I'm sure I will, I've predominantly found positive posts about teaching abroad in SE Asia.
