Help with pension pay out for US
« on: March 20, 2017, 08:51:51 PM »
Hey Folks,

Has anyone had experience getting their pension pay out sent to Bank of America in the US? I just assumed the routing number would be adequate since the US doesn't have IBAN numbers. The pension forms I had only asked for my bank account number and address. It didn't say anything about SWIFT codes. Will this be a problem? I thought I was all set and good to go but after talking to some people about the process I'm not so sure.

Anyone with experience or first hand knowledge about this process would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

If my memory serves me correctly it's sent to a US account. That was years ago however. Might have changed in recent years. When I got mine in 2011 they sent it to my US bank.

I just applied for the pension lump sum last week. I don't have BOA but I assume it works the same for all U.S banks. I think i just used a routing number, address, and bank account number, and that was enough. Make sure you bring a bank statement or blank check too.
